Great vacuum, shame about the battery
I have been seriously impressed, but also quite disappointed by this Shark vacuum.Firstly the good points. Minimal assembly is needed out of the box, and it comes with a stand which holds all the cleaning tools when not in use. This is a great feature because it means you are less likely to misplace them if you're putting the unit away in a rush. The Shark is super light and its small size means reaching smaller spots is nice and easy, too. The waste container is easy to empty, and the manufacturer provided sticker shows you how, so you don't even need to glance at the manual before getting going. Suction has been very impressive, beating the 12v cigarette lighter car vacuum I've been using by a long stretch. It picks up all small and medium-sized pieces of dirt/rubbish on first pass through, and has a wide enough nozzle so it doesn't get blocked too often. The downside unfortunately is the battery. 10 minutes simply isn't long enough, especially when the claimed charging time is 2.5 hours! I have managed to clean the car without it going flat, however if you plan to use it intensively in the house, the two battery option may be a better option.Overall I have really enjoyed using this vacuum. It provides great suction, feels robust and has a practical as well as functional charging dock. It's just a shame about the battery.

Don’t waste your money
Confused as to how this hoover has so many good reviews. The battery life is useless even with the extra pack, it took both batteries for me to clean the inside of my car and I still had to pull out my normal hoover to do the rest. The suction is light which means you have to go over the same spot over and over again for anything to come up. The handle seems to get quite hot whilst using it. I’d strongly disagree with buying this, very disappointed, the reviews are misleading.

Lost it’s mojo
UPDATE: 21 August 2019Sorry to say that this product has not in fact stood the test of time. It was used minimally and even then just for picking up bits of paper from my craft studio. The battery does not now hold charge and the suction is useless despite the filter being cleaned.Pity. Still a fan on the Shark upright (and steam mop) though but it’s back to Dyson for the handheld.Have defected to Shark from Dyson when I needed a new vacuum cleaner (fabulous product!), when my Dyson handheld gave up the ghost I went in search for a Shark again (not literally 🙄!). Found this little piece of magic! It’s slick, powerful and has an excellent battery life. You simply place it on and off the cradle, so no direct wired connection to the unit which risks becoming loose. It’s lightweight but robust and with the click of a button on the top, you can empty the contents directly into the dustbin (and there’s nothing for the dust and dirt to stick to inside so it tips out freely). It has to be said that the the cylinder is smaller than the Dyson but this kind of vacuum is for small jobs anyway, so the easy emptying system overrides the need for a larger cylinder. I can’t tell you how long the battery lasts as I haven’t had the need to recharge it mid-clean but my mum bought one on my recommendation and believes it to be around 10 minutes. The overall design looks and feels slick!Really pleased that there is now a competitor for Dyson, producing better and cheaper products. I also have a steam mop from Shark which is, again, a superb product 👍

Cat hair - no problem!
I bought the Shark WV251UK Cordless Handheld Vacuum Cleaner, Twin Battery on Prime Day (15/7/2019) because I have a Shark upright model (which is brilliant), and because the twin battery model was cheaper than the single battery model when I completed my purchase.Overall, I'm pleased with it, and it has done the little jobs I wanted it for e.g. hoovering the car, picking up cat hair, and a quick flit down the stairs (mine are not carpeted) without getting the upright Shark out. I'm happy with its performance as it does these little jobs quite easily.I've not used it over the 'supposed' 8-minute battery length yet, so I can't comment on the battery length, sorry if that doesn't help those of you who feel this is the most important thing. To be honest if I wanted to do the usual hoovering jobs around the house I'd get the upright Shark out the cupboard. This purchase for me was literally for the little jobs and any mishap sort of jobs, which is what I personally think this is designed for.The only thing I'm disappointed in is when I opened the box and unpacked it, it immediately became obvious that Shark don't supply a base for everything. I don't have a slot for both tools supplied with it. This made me look online again at both the twin and single battery products. The single battery model has slots for both the crevice and pet tool, and yet the twin battery only has a slot for one of the tools. As Shark has decided to do a model with a separate battery they should have made the base with 2 slots, to house both the crevice and pet tool. What I've ended up doing is putting the pet tool in the slot and laying the crevice tool length ways between the spare battery housing and the pet tool slot (please see photo). This is not a cheap product by any means, so you'd expect the manufacturer to make sure all tools had their own slots, shame on you Shark!

The new King of the kitchen
Being a slightly odd chap who enjoys the thrill of the research as much as the purchase, I watched numerous old QVC videos selling the Shark Cordless Handeld Vacuum Cleaner. I just couldn’t get enough of our cousins over the pond cleaning up colourful brekfast cereals, ‘dust bunnies’ (I had to look this one up) and kitty litter. After exhausting the interwebs of available clips, I was sold and put in my order. Having a two year old, I am in the target audience for this product - someone who quickly wants to clear up a little spill in the kitchen without having to drag out the main vacuum from under the stairs. The product arrived and It was set up with gusto. It hasn’t dissapointed. The Shark handeld laughs in the face of cereal, toast crumbs, sugar, dried herbs and more. It’s powerful for what it’s designed for and looks good in its spot in the kitchen, ready to suck those irritating dust bunnies from the floor. It’s even superseded the main vacuum at times, allowing me the chance to have a quick, cord free clean of the stairs. My partner tells me that my new obsession is unattractive and that if I whip my Shark out one more time, she’ll take the toddler and leave me. Just give her a day or two. I know she’ll come round to its appeal. Who in their right mind couldn’t?! It’s brilliant!
