I got what I paid for. One flashlight has already stopped working and I expect the other to stop working as well. I bought them in February 2018. It is now May 2018. Three months is way to short a life for a flashlight, and past the Amazon.com return date. I gave this two stars because it is very bright.

Only 1 worked.

I use it to detect uranium/Vaseline glass.Does NOT however, detect urine, blood or semen.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  This is a set of two UV flashlights with batteries that allow you to focus a blacklight on any area you choose. While conventional blacklights are used to create an effect in a given space, these are easier to move and manipulate so they can help find problems or can be used to authenticate items which are designed for blacklight detection (cash, art, antique glass, etc.). Since I'm an average person, my main use with this was to scope out my home for issues related to areas stained or soiled by pet or human waste or mold growth. I also discovered that it revealed problems with how my bathroom had been painted (speckling which showed that it had only been completed in a cursory fashion and not fully coated). For that function, these performed very well.The flashlights are compact and easy to hold. The light beam goes pretty far, but the closer you are, the more intense the beam. You can definitely spot issues from floor to ceiling, but it's a bit dim from clear across a room. The batteries come with these, which is unusual and appreciated. You need to unscrew the end caps and remove a round bit of cardboard to allow the batteries to make contact and then push a button in at the base to turn the flashlight on and off.I didn't have these when I moved into my new place (which I'm renting), but I think having them on hand when investigating apartments is a really good idea, especially if there are carpets and you want to check for human or pet waste stains or mold growth that are invisible to the naked eye.Note: I received a free sample of this product for my assessment.

They come with instructions on how to use them, what you are looking for, and how to tell what you are seeing. I loved that- since it was not like I thought it would be from watching CSI. If they hadn’t have included the instructions I would have thought they didn’t work. If you get them and have an issue, check the paper that comes in the box when you get them. It tells you what to look for when you use it.I got some body paints for a 5k with a glo theme, but we wanted to have some fun while testing them out. Buying blacklight and changing the lights seemed like a huge pain. These seemed like a much better idea, plus I could use them to check my toddler’s bed since my youngest is bathroom training. Any chance I get at waiting a day or two before having to wash an extra sheet is a plus!When we used them for the body paints, they were perfect. They are small and light, but they put out a good amount of light in the dark. We painted funny faces on and used the flashlights to make them shine bright and dance around. In one room with only the two lights, we had fun and plenty of light.I love that they have the keychain like rope handle. I have one hanging in his room so I can check the sheets in the morning to know if I need to wash them that day. I don’t have to have a dark room to use them.I purchased this product at a discount for testing and my personal review of the product. My review is my opinion, not a professional recommendation. These are portable, handy, ultraviolet lights that can be used for a multitude of purposes. I wanted them for two main reasons: 1. I live in on the edge of a very desert environment where scorpions abound. I am now able to do a quick walk around my house and make sure that I’m safe to walk barefoot and there aren’t any scorpions around. My floor tile is brownish and the scorpions tend to blend in easily; with these handy, little, ultraviolet lights, I can feel secure that I have adequately surveyed the area for potential danger.2. I have 3 dogs of my own, as well as I foster dogs for a local rescue. Sometimes these dogs can be sneaky and leave little urine surprises around the house that I am not aware of. I didn’t know what an effective tool these ultraviolet lights could be at discovering urine stains!! They make it so easy! All you have to do is go around your house when it is dark and shine the light on the floor and walls, etc., and any dried urine stains will be readily visible! It makes it so easy to spot and clean up! The darker it is, the more effective these lights are. I would not recommend even trying to use them in the daylight. Also, the light is a fairly focused output and so the coverage area is not very wide.These lights are small and portable and yet, powerful enough to be effective at their job. They have a strap handle making it easy to carry them around. There is a push button on the end for easy on/off. Batteries are included so the lights arrive fully functional and ready to use (other than removing the insulating sheet).I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review.

Works really well, just dim lights and it shows exactly where my dog has peed.
