Made entirely out of plastic
I was expecting better I guess. The whole thing is basically plastic. Even the little body thing that the cable goes through which I expected would be made out of some heavy metal. But it is plastic. All you would have to do is walk up and smash it with a hammer and it looks like it would fall to pieces. I wouldn't trust this alone by itself. For my trail cam, I bought the security box which I plan on bolting right to a tree, then wrapping this through for a little extra protection and then lastly attaching a lock to the front latch of the lock box.Using this alone, you will more than likely loose what's attached to it, if you can just smash the plastic bits off. Also the keys are tiny and delicate feeling. Toyish and cheap. That's the impression I get from this item is just a cheap novelty.

Strong and secure
Bought one to secure our hard shell tandem kayak which sits on a 30 degree slope when out of the water. Worked perfectly all summer so I bought a second one to secure our 8 ft water ladder during the winter. Be aware that if there is a lot of tension on the cable, you can’t unlock it - the lock will not turn. Decrease the tension on it and it unlocks just fine.

Used to secure bike carrier to SUV hitch
The cost to buy a Thule locking hitch pin is stupid. No generic anti wobble lock pin will work given Thules special threading. This was inexpensive and should act as a deterrant to stop someone from walking off with the bike rack. I snake and tighten this lock to the point that if the hitch pin ever fell out, this cable would hold the bike carrier in place in my SUV receiver as I drove down the road.
