The description of this item does not do it justice. I ordered it because it was the size I needed for my dog and the back seat of the car. I decided to give it a try and I’m glad I did! This seat is terrific. The ‘sheepskin’ fabric is very thick and padded and the walls unfold and are very sturdy. I have it on the hump in the backseat and have it secured over the headrest and have seatbelted it in -works perfect for my 18lb Poodle/Chi/Terrier mix. I’ve got 4 dogs and when they go to get their toenails trimmed, they all go in the car together. 3 in the backseat, so I needed a seat for the hump seat. This is perfect. If you have a smaller dog, short, you could still use this by adding an extra pillow inside to boost them up.

just for a reference, my dog is 23lbs and a mini schnauzer (not so mini 😬). he looooves it. he had an older car seat which was smaller (got it as a puppy) so we decided to get a bigger one. he relaxes in it, sleep in it, rests his chin on the edge. if he could tell me what he thought about it he’d prolly say he loves it. the cushions in it are pretty soft too. the only thing is dirt and stuff is pretty hard to get out, so if ur going on hikes, make sure his paws are clean before u put em in there

I love this seat. It is just what I was looking for. It has great padding. The only thing I didn't like is the belt to hook on the harness could be a little longer.

This fit my 23lb, tall poodle and he loved it! Very study. Made of strong material. Easy setup. Big fan!

My 12 lb mini doxie likes to look out the window so when adjusted correctly she can see. She can’t sprawl out in this seat but at least I know she is safe. I’m happy with the purchase. Seems very well made.

I really liked that it has an attached strap to clip on her harness and prevent her from "escaping" the box :)
