Not old model like in picture
Really wanted old model as pictured since it had a 2” round base to fit inside a 2” coupler but new model is not round. Old model is 24 and new one that was sent is a 24DA. Will use a rubber coupler to make work. Rule pumps are great products so I’ll make it work

Good Pressure, Small, Light, Low Current[sorta]
Bought this for beach trips. Basically wanna toss it out shore and use it to pump water on shore for things as sand castles and what not. Just received it this evening and did some testing. Using 3/4 inch water hose to an 3/4 inch connection, then going to a washing machine hose. I connected a 1/4 nozzle to bump up the pressure and to help it aim. I tossed the pump in a 5Gal bucket using a 5AH SLA battery. I held the hose 6ft+ above the bucket[ran outta hose] and it remained shooting water a good 10-15ft as if I were holding it 2ft high. While doing so, the pump was pulling anywhere from 1.01-1.14 amps[around 12 watts] from the battery[12.2V]. Now if I removed the connections and let the pump just circulate in the bucket unrestricted, it was pulling 2 amps[around 24 watts. I'll be using the nozzle so the 5AH SLA battery should get me a good 5 hours out of it, which is perfect. So far, good little pump. It puts out I wanna say 3PSI if its pumping at water level, with very high volume.I'll edit my review once I get it to shore and post how it does.EDIT~ 05/20/13It worked very well with a 25ft 3/4" hose. Works really good for washing the sand off yourself. I used a large zip strip to tie it down to a brick, that way it doesn't float back onto shore, which worked nicely. I just used about 15ft of speaker wire as a lead but had to use a chair to hold the battery out of the water. After running it through salt water, I can see the motor shaft and it is NOT rusty, which is a good sign. However, I did let it pump out 3 5-gallon buckets of fresh water, just to rinse it out.

Great pump
Use these pumps for my bait tank. Just replaced the old one after 3 years of use

Does what it's supposed to
Performs as expected. For me it was a direct swap in something called an "evaporative cooler", a sort of portable air conditioner (basically a fan blowing through a wet cloth moistened by ice water drawn up from a reservoir by one of these pumps--Google "12-Volt Three Speed Swampy SpaceKoolr Model T304" to see what I mean). The unit's original pump had finally worn out and gotten a bit "squealy" after years and years of use. This little low capacity pump clicked right into place, and the cooler's now good for another maybe 20 years. Like I said, this is a low capacity very small pump. It may be the smallest Rule makes. If you're using one of these for a bilge pump in a boat, it had better be a pretty small boat--maybe a 20 footer at most--though it might be just the ticket for some section of the bilge of a larger boat that doesn't flow well or as a little backup pump.

Rule is the top of the line bilge pump.
I purchased this bilge pump for a live bait tank I built. I used the pump in the bottom of a PVC pipe filter system that I designed for the bait tank. Above the bilge pump is an activated charcoal filter and then course filters. This keeps the water circulating through the filter and skims the floating debris off the top of the water. Although this pump will not be running all the time, it will run until our bait is gone and I drain the tank. This means the pump may run from one week to one month non-stop. Rule had the best longevity in my research. I noted where many used the pump in a backyard pond system. As with any electronic, it will need to be replaced over time. My decision was simple, go with the longest lifespan I could find.

Bilge pump for fountains
We use this pump as a safe feature for several water fountains in our patio and gardens. Running 12 vdc to these is much safer than using typical 110 vac fountain pumps. And they last about a year running 10 hours a day, sometimes running dry. By hooking them up to a variable-voltage power supply from Radio Shack, we can vary the flow to get exactly what we want. Yes, I wish they lasted longer but they are cheap and as long as you hook them up in a way that is easy to replace, they are worth the one hour a year to replace them. Good product.

convert evaporative coolers to 12 volts
Low current draw, runs cool even when not submerged, moves plenty of water over cooler pads, and add a 12 vdc fan and the evaporative cooler is 'off the grid' and onto solar panels/batteries. I live in the desert, make my own power and use an inverter only when absolutely unavoidable. Besides, this is a good way to make a cooler out of one that has been junked - all you really need is the box with pads, a 12 v water pump and 12 vdc fan. No brainer...Also, these pumps last a long time AND they are priced so that ordering a spare unit in the original order is just good sense.

This Was the New Model, Not the Old Style in the Photo
It was the real Rule pump but was the new style with the longer outlet pipe and the backflow preventer. My installation was for a shower drain and I needed the OLD style with the short 3/4 inch barb right out of the pump. That's what the picture showed on Amazon but not what I received. I will modify the system to make this one work, but it would have been a lot better to have the picture right so I could have found one somewhere else.

Attention au produit livré !
Le produit livré n'est pas le produit commandé. Il s'agit de la version plus récente. Dans l'absolu ce n'est pas grave mais j'aurais pu trouver cette version un peu moins cher.Après, la pompe marche parfaitement.Livraison rapide.

The flow rate is better than another 12V pump I used to have
I use this pump attached to a 12V leisure battery, to pump water from a pond to water butts on my allotment. It works really well, but requires some adaptation to use out of the box. The bare wire leads need to be attached to crocodile clamps or some other way of connecting to the battery; and the hose is 3/4" which is something I'm finding difficult to source here (I adapted it to connect to a standard 1/2" garden hosepipe for now). The flow rate is better than another 12V pump I used to have, and so far it is operating seamlessly (used about 4 months).

Good replacement and works fine.
