Door closer
Its is working perfectly and value for money. Compact, yet serves the purpose. Fully recommended. Good for house entrance doors. Need a carpenter to fix it properly. Top side works fine.

Doesn’t work
Doesn’t do the job at all. I tried it on a very light door and it didn’t even close it a bit.I should have decided based on the other reviews.

Fix for spring noise
I contacted Gib and they gave me a solution. It's not difficult and all noise is now gone. The image is an exploded view of the closer. The noise comes from the coils of the springs rubbing inside the Gibcloser. The noise can be eliminated from the closer. Here are the steps to lubricate the springs.1. First, release all the tension of the closer.2. Next unscrew the assembly screw at the bottom.3. Brush in some wheel bearing grease (I used white lithium grease) in between the spring rings with a small craft brush (or finger or stick, anything really). Avoid using lubricants like WD-40 which actually breaks down any lubricating grease already inside.4. Insert the spring ends into the top and bottom assemblies and then the other ends into the adjustment disk.5. Then reassemble the housing putting back in the assembly screw.6. Install closer back onto the door.7. Finally, re-tension the adjustment disk in the center. You can over tighten the tension of a GibCloser. Here is the warning on over tensioning the closer. (see image attached)The adjustment disk can be adjusted a maximum or 4 hole spaces before the springs will buckle.

Creaking noise
Pictures, specially #3 and the video in the marketing is of a similar but different style of product. If you look at the four screw holes you will see that the #3 pic and the video is different style where the four screws go into you can mark easily with a pencil. However being a handyman, I managed to figure out how to install it. Secondly, the 4 (they actually sent three only) white cover to cover the screw holes did not align properly into the screw holes. The product is solidly built mostly metal except for the slider plate to have less friction.Any regular handyman can install it.Just installed it. Works OK. Good value for money.Three stars due to different style sent and not entirely proper instructions on the packaging and the video installation instructions. It snow creaking like crazy!!! cant get a break!!

It's ok.
I've been using this door closer for about 2 weeks. So far so good. I hear a lot of complaints in the reviews section about it being noisy. I have occasionally heard some spring noises but it seldom and not very loud at all. The product allows tension adjustment by placing the metal rod into different slots on the device. I found the lowest/weakest tension adjustment was sufficient to close my bathroom door. My only complaint about this door closer is that is has no speed control. Meaning, that the door will keep accelerator until it slams on shut. So, the wider that the door is open , the faster the door will move. So, if you open the door full way, then that gives more time for door to accelerator causing the door to slam shut. But normally, I just open the door half way, and by doing do the door closer will close the door gently.

Worked great for about 3 days
Then it started making weird spring noises, and since then it's become progressively weaker and weaker. The door is hollow particle board standard 32" wide so it's not doing a whole lot of work. Now about 2 weeks later, I had to adjust the setting to the next notch as it is no longer able to close the door on the previously first-installed setting. Maybe a dud but it's a very high traffic area, maybe door is opened 10 to 20 times a day. I'd maybe look around for an alternative product.

It Works Great! With A Little Elbow Grease
Lets get to the point, I installed it and worked great for about a day or so. After that the spring was just making a ton of grinding noise. Just loud and annoying. So I unscrewed the top and took the whole thing apart and added a ton of Bearing Grease inside on both springs top and bottom and just like that no more noise. Sure its a pain since I shouldn't have to do that but at least its quite now. I would still recommend this product.
