Delighted with these gloves. They have made my kitchen a safer and better place.
I bought these gloves after misplacing my old "traditional" oven mitt. They are wonderful in many ways, and I will never go back to the old-fashioned way. I'm not even going to bother looking for my misplaced mitt. It will turn up sooner or later. The gloves are comfortable and very well made. The pile is thick but very flexible. They are ambidextrous, saving time when you in a cooking frenzy. The silicone dimples provide a positive grip on your hot item. Aramid fiber is a wonderful invention, useful in many applications that could previously be handled only by asbestos.Read and heed the safety precautions - These gloves would definitely NOT protect you from being burned by a hot liquid of any kind - Water, oil, grease, etc. They are ONLY for handling dry objects up to the rated temperature. But for that purpose they are excellent.

Very effective gloves
These gloves definitely work. They allow you to comfortably touch and hold very hot things in the kitchen or around the grill. My wife really hates the look of them, but I don't mind so much. Yes, they're not the most manly-looking gloves, but I'm more of a function-over-aesthetics kind of guy, and these function very well.

Excellent replacement for my old oven mitts
I have three types of wearable hot pads, and each has it's usefulness.I have oven mitts. They are very easy to slip on and off, and for the most part, make picking hot pans up without much trouble. However, there are times when having full use of your fingers is essential, and that is where the mitts fail.I also have silicone gloves. Silicone gloves are thick and a little difficult to put on. Although they are gloves, the sense of touch is hidden behind the thick silicone, so they can be a little clumsy to use as well. But, you can pick up any hot item, or even reach into boiling water with them. Silicone gloves are very easy to clean - they are a must-have for cooking and grilling. The Whitebergs are the third type. The gloves are very easy to put on, and feel very comfortable on the hand, thanks to a cotton inner lining. Although thick, the sense of feel is not entirely lost, making these gloves much more comfortable to use for picking things up and feeling secure in what you are doing. Although I have not tested these at the max heat of 662 degrees F, I have reached into a 450 degree toaster oven and pulled a small roasting pan out one-handed, feeling very secure with my grip on the pan, and only noticing a small amount of warmth transferred thru the material.Easy to put on, easy to take off, better dexterity than mitts, comfortable to wear. These are now my goto cooking gloves, unless I am picking up something that is wet. Then I go to the silicone gloves. My oven mitts went to the trash.I received this item at a discount in return for my honest and unbiased review.
