Leonardo's enigmatic Mona Lisa becomes even more intriguing in this version, composed of over 700 tiny (half-inch-square) images taken from famous portraits. The constituent artists range from Reubens to Renoir. Since each image is smaller than an individual puzzle piece, there is no way to sort the pieces by concentrating on color or dividing the image into convenient subsets such as clothing, hair, enigmatic smile, etc. The only thing that makes the challenge a little simpler is that it's fairly easy to immediately see which way each piece should be oriented. --Richard Farr
