so, update after a good windy season and they all broke. so, I would buy them again for one time use only. I'd prefer if the plastic top were metal or stronger and the zip ties to be metal... then you'd get more than a season of use. These work pretty decent for "basic tie down" being used in a TINY slit (between deck boards per typical example). I use these to provide a BASIC deterrent for front porch thiefs (not that they couldn't just yank and break these suckers easily) and to hold down my porch canopy on a medium windy day. I have not tested these for the canopy on a STRONG windy day (clearly I need mother nature for that). We'll see and I'll update my post. I don't expect the plastic zip ties to hold perfectly, which leads me to think these could be upgraded with metal zip ties. Metal zip ties are less likely to break, and are equally slim for the tiny usage situations. It's a GENIUS idea, a washer and a zip tie with a footing. Brilliant! When I was thinking of how to lock things down without drilling holes in my deck, this is exactly what I was thinking. Glad I didn't have to manufacture the footing. ;) All in all, I'd recommend these for "BASIC" tie down situations in small/thin slits. Do NOT expect these to prevent theft, maybe just deter OR to keep your canopy or other umbrella like objects from blowing away (it's a "MINOR" aid or deterrent).

Zip ties kept breaking and lost a washer. It's definitely a good product and serves its purpose. Good thing there were spare washers and zip ties.

These are pretty cool! I replaced my old propane BBQ with an electric this year. The old heavy one used to end up at he other end of the deck in a good windstorm. I figured I had to do something with this new light one. I ran across these and they worked great! I just used some leftover bungee cord I had laying around, and its yet to move a bit!

I like that these are pretty low profile and less likey to trip up on when my 4 bamboo reed shades are rolled up and secured. I bought these to anchor the bottom ends of the shades down so when the wind blows I don't have to run out and roll them up, avoiding them getting damaged....hopefully. I just installed them about 30 minutes ago so...fingers crossed. I was able to easily swap the black ties that they came with for some brown zip-ties to match the reeds. It is a little hard to get them to snug down completely to the deck. The ties don't quite want to bend and contort like that, but not bad all-in-all.
