Excellent Resource
This book has been very helpful in my massage practice. I would recommend it to any massage therapist who wants to take their massage business beyond the spa and help those dealing with injuries and chronic pain. It helps to know exactly which muscles are affected so you know where to work and when best to refer out.

it is a very detailed book but I was disappointed in the black and white pictures
it is a very detailed book but I was disappointed in the black and white pictures, I believe colored onnes would have enhanced its quality, it also makes for easier viewing and if you are a visual person this is important, I certainly wouldn't buy it again

Clear and concise information
This was a required classroom text for my medical massage class. It does a good job of describing the most common medical conditions that therapists encounter. It gives detail on the disease/disorder, how best to treat, and what to avoid. It is not a how to type of manual, just gives you tools to make assessments.

Every Remedial Massage Therapist should have a copy
This is an excellent resource for any remedial massage / manipulative therapist. It's a few years old but still contains excellent information, I particularly like Whitney's sections entitled 'explanation' which do just that and help round out an overall understanding...a very useful touch. I would defiantly buy an updated version if one were to come out.A couple of gripes on the indexing where a couple of the tests weren't listed, but aside from that one of my top 5 therapy resource books out of over a hundred on my shelves.

Glad I bought it!
I may not be the best person in the world to review this book as I got it as an aid to my studies. (I am doing a course in muscular therapy). That said, I found it very very helpful. It clearly explains common injuries and disorders associated with various parts of the body (ankle, leg, knee, hip, shoulder, spine, shoulder arm). There is useful info explaining how the different tests have an effect on the muscle, joint, etc., and this in turn gives one a better understanding. The photos are particularly helpful, as is the consistent approach in each of the chapters. I'd give it a 5 star rating, but I haven't used any other texts to compare it to!
