This is a great little optical drive, if you're still using CDs and DVDs these days you can't go wrong with this drive. The price is unbeatable, it's sleek and nice looking (I like the brushed look across the top) and operates perfectly. A single USB port is all you need unlike the ole' days where an external optical drive needed two. The cable is attached and tucked in on the bottom and I actually like that, one less cable to worry about. My unit includes the TSST TS-L632H optical drive which supports 24x CD Read/Write, 8x DVD Read/Write respectively. Overall, a very worthwhile, low-cost optical drive.

I was disappointed when I found that the new laptop I got didn't have a CD drive built in (guess that how they make them thinner and lighter). So, I got this external drive and it works great. Truly "plug and play" device. And it's small enough to tuck in my tote bag with the laptop.

Worked great for backing up CDs! CDs have become somewhat obsolete so this is a great way to have access to the music on my phone and truck. You will need to download a Ripping software, I used Nero CD ripper with zero problems

I plugged it in. Looked for software. Couldn't find it. It does not work with my computer. I want to return it.Update. Be sure to return it immediately. I went out of town for a while. When I returned, tried to use it, and found it was junk, it was too late to return it. Beware, it is not worth the postage 20 cents, much less 20 dollars.

I ordered this 6 months ago (Feb 2021) when I realized my internal drive wasn't working, and it stayed in its box until I needed it. Plugged it in and it spins but nothing plays. After some finnagling around, I read the description again and WAY DOWN AT THE END OF PRODUCT DESCRIPTION it says,"NOTE: Customer’s using Windows 10 are advised to Install VLC Media player to Play DVD and CD."Well I have VLC Media Player, so I opened it and found the file. The VIdeo scenes were divided, so I had to choose from several, and then it played ONLY the Video portion (NO AUDIO). Also, it will NOT play CD's. The product is described as "CD/DVD Drive" but on the actual item it says "DVD R/RW".Too bad there's a lot of crap on Amazon and you have to be wary. 20 bucks wasted.

technology changes rapidly, so my new PC did not have an internal cd drive, a shame. need one for my windows repair and restores and certain old cd programs. Plus have lots of files on backup discs I want access to if ever needed.This purchase met everything perfectly, works great, easy install etc..I only wish its USB cable were twice as long.

It's super light and the cord fits perfectly into the plastic shell to take up less space. It's made of cheap ish plastic but I don't mind. I unfortunately managed to dig up my DVD player after ordering this so it hasn't gotten much use but it'll be great if I ever travel or I can give it to a friend.

I got this so I can watch movies on. It loads fast it runs quietly. Over all it is great for price.
