My mom loves to write and I wanted to get her a special, high-quality journal as a Christmas gift. This did not disappoint. So, if it wasn't what I expected in quality, I was worried about the extra-cost and hassle of returning it, but went with my gut and decided to take a risk. It was well-worth that risk. The pictures do not do this hand-made journal justice.The embossed image on the front has a Goddess-of-the-forest mystical look to it and looks as if it is whispering "fill my pages with your treasured secrets and deepest thoughts, wishes and dreams."The metal clasp has a sturdy design and holds the journal together nicely, but is not difficult to open and close for those who have issues with finger dexterity and strength.Inside, the cover page with the map is a beautiful touch and the subtly-lined paper is quality, so the writing does not bleed through onto the reverse side of the page. My mom loves the little pocket area inside the journal's front cover and will likely keep notes and ideas stashed there. There is also one of those ribbons inside the journal to use as a place-marker.Although I often give journals as gifts, I felt really proud giving this one to my mom. It was a stand-out, that I wrapped with love and the level of care in which it was made and she was really in awe of this journal when opening it.The quality is reflected in the price, but for a special gift for a special person, it was well worth it & I highly recommend it. I think I may put it on my own gift wish list!

Wow you guys.... I literally just received my journal and I am speechless! It's beautiful!! Perfect size, perfect weight, the c hook is very sturdy. The cover and the book inside lay flat just like it says in the description. It's not perfectly identical to the picture here but I already expected that and want other buyers to realize that it's going to be one of a kind but just as beautiful!

wow what an amazing journal.. it is beautiful and I received it really fast.. I think it is probably one of the prettiest journals I own.. and I have a lot of journals.. I will probably purchase more from this seller, one to write in and one to draw in.. it is just amazing.. I recommend this seller you will not be disappointed in this purchase.. and it is just breathtaking I am going to buy another one next month. it may seem a bit pricey but compared to other journals out there it is definitely worth it.. fantastic..

This is absolutely the best journal I have ever had. It does look and feel exactly like the picture and how you would expect. I would actually like to buy another one for my mom. The pages are perfect and the ribbon for a book mark. I even put photos in the cover slit on the inside. I highly recommend buying this journal. Thank you so much

This is the most lovely journal I have ever owned, and I intend to use it for many year to come! This picture does not do the journal justice. It is made of a sturdy leather with excellent stitching, patterned in an incredibly beautiful design.The woman's mouth is covered with a scarf of leather as if she is holding a secret...perfect for a woman who wishes to write down secret and sacred thoughts. The metal clasp is designed nicely as well. It holds this journal closed snuggly, but is easy to open for those with mobility impairment.Inside, the paper is of high quality, with lines that are easy to see but not prominent. I've used Parker ball point pens on this paper and the writing is smooth without seepage on the other side. I am glad to say that this is a refillable journal, so you can use it for a long time. A few other nice touches: there are areas inside the front sleeve of the journal to slip a piece of paper or book mark, and there is a ribbon to hold your place for your next writing moments.I think most people would really find this an excellent buy for such an exceptionally beautiful journal.
