Long time pond owners.
Nice quality product that would be highly recommended for pond users of all levels. Very easy to cut into any desirable shape, and could also be used for other applications with a creative mind. Good value for the money when shopping other brands. Very nice job of keeping materials from getting sucked into the pond pump. Very easy to use, and higly effective product.

I can finally see my fish again!
Last year someone bought property uphill behind my 3800 gallon Koi pond and cleared off a lot of brush and grasses - that lot is now just dirt, much of which is washing downhill and into my pond. The water got so thick with dirt I could only see the fish when they surfaced for food. I have 375 gallons of filtration that had always kept the water clear and healthy; the tanks became clogged with mud and the weekly cleanings weren't making a dent in the mess. I decided to try this along with my regular filtration. 3 weeks ago I got my first two 10-foot rolls; put it as an extra layer in my mechanical filter and the filter at the head of my stream, into the skimmer box, wrapped the pump in the bio-filter, even around the exit tube in the vortex for the first few days. I've been kept very busy pulling and hosing tons of mud off this material, but it's working! I ordered another couple of rolls, changed the configuration in the mechanical filter where I have an upright "wall" of this material (preceded by several layers of matala), followed by 100 micron felt pads, and another layer of this material, and today the water is clearer than I can recall it being in several years! I'm *very* pleased with this product! My only complaint is that it does deteriorate fairly quickly under many and hard hosings. But now that the mess is gone I'm sure this will help keep things manageable without having to hose the crud out of it every couple of day. Highly recommend as an addition to regular filters/biofilters to keep the water cleaned up of floating gunk! The pix I posted aren't the best, the lighting was too bright, BUT you can see the bottom, and the lily pot on the bottom - which is 5 feet down!

Good part of a larger system.
Great filter medium. I use this between a finer and a coarser filter. Itโs extra work when itโs time to clean them, but I have a better feel for when itโs time to clean them, so itโs not fine one day and totally clogged the next.

Tremendous value for the money
I bought this based on some You Tube recommendations as a cost effective means of filter cartridge replacement. I cut a piece to the dimensions of the cartridge in my Tetra Whisper (that's a joke) 40 HOB filter and installed it 3 days ago. This fits in the slot where the factory cartridge goes. Water flow is excellent and the media filtered out quite a bit of detritus. Distribution of the detritus was fairly even, mimicking that on the factory cartridge, indicating normal flow through the new media. Value for this product is excellent. If I cut straight, I will get 32 pads out of my 72"x16" roll. That comes to $0.50 per pad, a tremendous savings given the $5.00 cost of replacement cartridges available at SF Bat area Petco's. The product is easily cut with a standard household scissors the only downside is that the factory pads have a slightly denser weave that does a better job of polishing the water. Nothing is perfect, but this stuff is a tremendous value.

Not as thick as stated
This is definitely a "you get what you pay for" item. Purchased this item about three weeks ago for my 1500 gallon pond, and I already need to replace the filter. I had to cut two separate pieces and stack them on top of each other in order to get a one inch thickness, and even then, the filter still clogged pretty frequently. It started out strong, lasting almost a week before I needed to wash it out, but started to get flimsy with each wash. By the third week the filter had gotten so thin and flimsy that I was washing it out almost daily. This product works well for a cheap, temporary filter, but expect to purchase a new roll after a few weeks.

Used the same roll since 2020
I bought this filter November 2020 for my goldfish tank. I am still using the same roll. You get multiple uses with each section you cut. I will never ever buy anything else. I still have 1/4 if a roll left. I can never remember if it's blue side out or white. If anyone knows please tell me. Either way it works great.

Easy cut to size Holds up to power washer cleanings.
Cost a little more then other brands. But worth it. I bought 3 times. As thick as described. Holds up to about 10+ times power washer cleanings before tearing / need replacing. Removes small particles of dirt and mud. I use in pond filter between the heavy duty plastic filter pads to remove fine dirt. Best I found to get water crystal clear after koi dug into Lilly pots and made pond muddy. Would recommend for pond or aquariums.

Used this filter in a skimmer. It did catch some stuff but the white side started falling apart after a couple of cleanings. Was not as fine or tightly woven of a filter as I had hoped for.

Used once and fell apart. I am trying to get a refund now.
