These work great for art projects! They're massive on my 2.5 year old, but he doesn't mind. I don't wash them when he gets paint on them. We decided to use the 2nd smock as a bib, and that didn't work out as well. The smocks just aren't made to be washed. Whatever waterproof coating they have on the inside disintegrates rather quickly when washed. We've made it a couple weeks, but my son was covered in tiny little lining pieces the last time we took it off after a meal. We really haven't washed it aggressively (just a rinse, really) and not more than once a day. So if you're planning to use it for art projects and let it remain dirty - awesome! If you're hoping to clean it every time you use it...find something that's higher quality.
