can i use standard window cleaner instead of the Gila application solution?

The kit is nice, but for extra solution or saving money, you can easily make your own. I successfully use *distilled or R/O* water (not tap - that has mineral in it that can leave deposits/film behind and be trapped) and i've used as little as 2 drops of soap and I like to add a dash or 2 of rubbing alcohol into it as well but maybe not necessary. This makes the slippery surface needed to slide the material around for positioning.

Can this solution be used to apply other window films that aren't the Gila brand?

Yes it is too much & I don't know what to do with the rest of it. Does it clean glass/mirrors wood tile or what? It's 16 fl. oz.(473 ml) And you just need as much as you would use Windex to clean glass/mirrors. The instructions on the Film explains everything you need and it doesn't say anything about having to buy this product. I love the Film though. It's very pretty but can get bubbles after some time so it needs to be adjusted with or without the film tool kit.

Can you use this on a garage door window (plexiglass)?

Yes, it works on plexiglass and acrylic products. I used a similar static cling film on my garage door windows and it worked flawlessly. I highly recommend these static films for privacy, light diffusion and glare reduction, along with the overall look and ease of use.

Excelente calidad, duración y precio!!

Siempre he vivido en zonas calurosas y conocí la marca desde hace más de 13 años y hoy día la sigo usando para reducir calor y tener privacidad con las películas protectoras de esta marca. Cero problemas de instalación si sigues bien las instrucciones y tomas las medidas con precisión y cortas igual con precaución y como consejo yo uso masking tape para fijar bien la película de las esquinas a la mesa donde la corto para que no se mueva y tener cortes más precisos. Esta película me duro más de 13 años en una ventana que le daba el sol de frente de las 8 a las 15 hrs todos los días.
