Carson MiniBrite 3x Power LED Lighted Slide Out Magnifier with Protective Sleeve (PO-25)

I bought this to carry in my purse for unfortunately it’s quite heavy and I don’t like a heavy purse. It works well in low light because it gives you light to see what the writing is.

Love this magnifying glass order two more. Great for reading on my Kindle when I need larger print or reading directions when I cook. Love it.

The magnifier is the perfect balance of price, size, and usability. The 3x magnification is excellent for older eyes or reading fine print. I also have a 5x vision, but I prefer the 3x, as it allows a greater field of view and is more forgiving when trying to focus.The light is bright but not blinding, and kudos to the designers for using longer-lasting 3x AAA batteries instead of the weaker (and typically harder to replace) "button batteries" that many similar designs use.It fits easily into my front pants pocket and is unobtrusive for those times when you need some visual help but don't want to scream to the rest of the restaurant that you have difficulty seeing small type.

Overall, this small lighted magnifier is not bad, although I can foresee problems with the battery compartment which may ultimately cause this magnifier to fail completely.The magnifying glass is nice and clear, and free from distortions. The light provides a nice bright white light when the case if fully open. These two features alone make it worth the price here on amazon prime. The case itself is made of a very thin plastic and one needs to be careful when opening and closing the unit, otherwise damage will occur. Still, it is small enough to fit in a purse or a pocket--being not too bulky but, just the right size. Unfortunately, I do have a few concerns.Like other reviewers here have pointed out, the battery cover is made of extremely thin plastic and one needs to be careful when opening or closing it, otherwise it will crack. The primary concern though is the fact that fitting the three AAA batteries into their respective slots is freightingly difficult. I cannot imagine how difficult it will be to remove them--yikes! And once the batteries are securely in their slots, the thin plastic battery cover fits on so tightly that it has a slight "bulge" to it. This slight bulge makes sliding the outer cover (which exposes the lens and light) over the battery case cover difficult. It is for these reasons that I am concerned about how long this magnifier will last.Despite the aforementioned concerns, considering the price, I am still pleased with my purchase and would recommend it. In fact, now that I own the 3X powered one, I have ordered the 5X one as well.

This magnifying glass is great! The light is good and can see very clearly. I love that it folds down so it won’t get scratched! I bought one and my husband loved it. So I bought him a back up one and one for me too! Highly recommend

You will need three AAA batteries, which are not included; it’s not very large, but will easily fit inside a pocket or a purse, backpack, etc. It seems this may have been returned… The cardboard of the package was ripped away at the top from the plastic covering, and it had been stapled. It had then been placed in a clear plastic bag prior to being placed in a shipping envelope… And the adhesive of the plastic bag was full of black hair. (sorry, but this is gross)I really don’t care if this item had been returned because it works and I can clean it off with a bacterial wipe. I would have been embarrassed had I sent this as a gift to someone. It is not worth it to me to return it.
