Whays the main difference between the 404kbk and the 404mbk?

The 404Mbk is the current model. The 404Kbk is a few years older, mostly cosmetic changes.

can this be switched to left handed retrieve? and does it come with a double knob and a single knob handle?

The Zebco 404 cannot be converted to left hand retrieve. The gears and plastic are not built symmetrically like in other Zebco reels. Looking for a mounting spot for the handle in pictures is you're safest bet.
