I loved how this book had explanations of all the buildings it took us too. I learned more from this book than I did our bus tour. Before our trip I read through and highlighted all the places I wanted to visit and made a plan . It was so handy!

Fun Gift for any Visitor
Bought this for my mom as a gift because she's visiting Savannah shortly. She absolutely loves it and references every time I call. Excited to see it put to use in a few weeks.

We liked the simple directions for walking
My husband and I are 60-somethings and we wanted a simple guide to use at our leisure and this did fit the bill. We liked the simple directions for walking. We did stray from the plan a few times, which is expected. My only suggestion would be to include stops on the way for restroom opportunities, which is the main reason why we strayed! But, that gave us the perfect excuse to enjoy that wonderful coffee and muffin from a bakery we couldn't resist! Do Savannah on foot for at least part of your visit because there are so many little enjoyments that are missed when you take the trolley or buggy. One resident invited us into their garden walkway to admire the beautiful blooms and plantings. Another time we chatted with two native born residents when we were taking a break under the shady gazebo at Johnson Square. We ended one of our walks with a cold draft beer at a locals' bar off the beaten track. What a treat! We learned a lot there as you can imagine!

Book is thin and convenient to take on your walks. Great pictures and descriptions of landmarks!

Less is more!
The book is less than 25 pages and outlines self walking tours in two segments highlighting points of historical interest. I especially liked the listing of historic sites on the last two pages, informing you if a fee is required or not or donations accepted.

Lots of info...don't rely on the map for good directions.
This Guide has a lot of info in it but the map is sketchy. I will need to pick up a more detailed city map when I get there.
