Great Stuff -- But Plan Your Installation Carefully!
Cushion tape insulator-gap filler products are quite common, as you see 'em in dump bins in every hardware store or home improvement center across the nation. This one is DUCK brand "Home Smart - Earth Friendly Weatherstrio Seal 3/4" wide x 3/8" thick x 10 feet long" and it installs a bit differently than you might expect. It's great stuff and has a very thick structure of poly cell foam, with very tiny holes to provide squishiness plus air stoppage. It's of course VERY sticky on one side, so you apply it usually to a fixed location like a window channel so that the movable portion smashes into it and creates that desired air leak stopping effect. The most common insulator tapes are a big roll with a skinny piece of continuous waxed paper that you can peel away at a 90 degree angle after you position the tape in the installation location. Thus you can pull away the tape while pressing down on the foam, and a great, neatly aligned seal is accomplished. THIS product, however, does not install that way. Instead, the waxed paper appears to be "on the wrong side" as you unfurl the tip of the spool to begin your installation. The cushion strip actually peels away from the waxed paper as you start to unfurl the product. So you must guide the entire roll into position on the installation surface, with the result that now you have a cushioned strip stuck to the door/window frame with a piece of thick waxed paper stuck on top of it. After the Duck Weather Seal material is in place, THEN you simply pull off the waxed paper to reveal the non-sticky side of the foam that will contact your door/window. The UPSIDE of this technique is that you don't have a mass of unfurled foam stripping at your feet that could get messy. The CAUTIONARY part of this installation is that the roll itself may get in the way and hinder your ability to lay down a perfectly straight adhesion, especially near the corners. The tape is SUPER sticky and unforgiving, so proceed carefully when you install this product. Once it's in place, I expect it will outlast many of the cheaper, larger-pore foam insulator tapes. If the tape holds true, the foam should not degrade much on its own. It is a VERY lightweight foam, so the weight of itself will not fight against the adhesion of the sticky substance so much.

Good product
This product was easy for a mature woman to use. But I didn't pay attention to length. I needed to order another roll to cover my door frame. Not attractive- but a good seal around my back door. That is what I needed and what I wanted to purchase. I would buy this product again but try and smaller diameter.

this type seal material is okay but know that,..
in a pinch this type material is an okay sealer. that said due to the nature of the foam used it compresses down very easily and doesn't pop back up so to speak. the adhesive holds well and for some this may be all they need. for us however with harsh winter weather it wasn't sufficient so went ahead and purchased a different type.for a window that shuts vertically, pressing down on this i think for many it work out fine. but again for most other uses not so much and not over any length of time.

Long-lasting for Low Movement Gaps, Measure Carefully
Well, it's been 12 years, so I think it's time to say if this item works or not, haha. This Duck foam weatherstrip seal works as intended. I used it around my front door, which had a gap about 5/16" from the door frame, so that is the thickness I bought. I found that the width didn't matter in my case, because the tape was going to be more narrow than my door no matter what. I can tell you that this stuff works. You used to be able to feel the cold air blowing in through those cracks and now it doesn't, and the tape has stayed on for over a decade!!!Full disclosure, I only open this door about 2-3x a week and I live in the northeast, so it's not particularly hot. I don't know if the tape will hold up in places that regularly get 100 degree summers, or if you keep opening and closing the taped area. Also you need to measure carefully. If your gap is smaller than 5/16", you can squish this foam in that crack, but it will be a pain to open and close. If you buy something too thin for your gap, then there will be a draft anyway. So you have to measure just right. I measured accurately and you can see in one of my photos how it completely seals between the door and the frame perfectly. My door is every so slightly crooked, so where the distance was smaller than 5/16" got a lot of friction when opening and closing the door, so you can see in the other photo where the tape doesn't stick anymore and kind of broke off, flopping around. But that is the only section where that happened, the rest has stayed intact all this time.Just buy this stuff and take a chance like I did, if it doesn't work for you, then you are only out a few dollars. I have saved so much money on heating and cooling costs over the years, was totally worth the small gamble to see if it would work. Have spent my money on much more worse purchases here. 😂

Good Old Fashioned Ugly Stripping That Works Great
After so many reviews I don't think that there is much I can add about this stripping. This is just good old fashion foam style weather stripping that can more than do the trick on gaps in windows, doors, etc.. It looks like hell, but for many of us, including myself, some of the gaps and drafts I have in mind for this are well past caring about any looks. Its super sticky and attaches itself to most surfaces effortlessly. Personally I found that on metal surfaces I could peel it off and reattach it without ripping it. So in my opinion it can be pulled off and reattached if done immediately, or within a few minutes after installing. Also, the white strip on this, despite other reviewers here having various theories on it is simply there to keep the foam from sticking together while its rolled up, nothing more. It doesn't make any difference if you apply it with it on or off. Personally, I prefer it off for I have seen the foam shift after applying it and then peeling it off and then you have to re position it. All in all, good old fashioned, non new fangled foam strip that works great and comes at a fair price here on Amazon...

Good sealant!
I purchased this to seal a back door at my place of business that was letting in the Canadian sub-zero temps and it worked wonderfully!Applying the seal was super easy, the adhesive is pretty good and has remained stuck firmly in place. It formed a pretty good seal and has kept the draft at bay for now.The only thing I have to negatively say about this is that a good foot is unusable as it gets stuck to the cardboard tub it comes on. The foam is easy to tear if you pull too hard so you're not able to pull the last of it from the roll.

Clean with alcohol first
Definitely clean the area with rubbing alcohol first (this is not specified in the instructions, do it anyway). After we thoroughly cleaned the door, this stuff worked like a dream. One package is enough for one standard exterior door.
