Snaps right into our existing Honeywell mount that was on the wall when we purchased our home, it has four time zones so you can program it how to work for your needs.At this extra-low price it is a great value for Honeywell users.

No to backlight, yes to batteries required.
The listing for this thermostat says it has a backlight, it does not. If you want to change the setting at night have a flashlight handy. The listing also states that no batteries are required. Yes, batteries are required, two AAA. I have ordered two of these thermostats thinking the backlight was bad on the first one. When there was no backlight on the second thermostat, I arrived at the conclusion this particular model does not have an aluminated screen. The thermostat itself functions properly but it does not have separate settings for Saturday and Sunday.

Lowered our monthly bill
We purchased this because our old thermostat was a dial operated and our house didn't regulate heat properly. My husband installed it and within a couple weeks our bill was down by almost $2 aday.

Only works in temps above 30 degrees
When this thermostat works, it does work well and I have not had any issues with it while it was working. However, I use this thermostat in my wood shop and only need it to run the heater when it is cold. I live in a state where it gets pretty cold in the winter and once the temps drop below 30 degrees, the thermostat stops working and just displays “Lo”. I literally have to remove the face plate, warm it by some means (usually under my coat) til the temp reads higher than 35 degrees (5-10minutes under coat). I then return the face plate back on the bracket where the wires are attached and hope the shop warms up above 30 degrees before the thermostat drops below 30 again, turning off my heater. If not, I have to repeat the process until my shop warms up enough to keep the thermostat working. This process usually takes me 3x longer to heat the shop than it should (very frustrating and time consuming when you are trying to get work done). There is nothing in the manual it came with to address this issue and I have not found anything on the internet that addresses this issue either. I guess I will be replacing the thermostat with something else that does not have this problem.
