Paria Outdoor Products Bryce Ultralight Tent and Footprint - Perfect for Backpacking, Kayaking, Camping and Bikepacking

I purchased the 2P tent in late December of 2018 to replace my older gear. These photos are from the first trip out with Paria gear and used on a 3 day trip in Tucson, AZ in early January 2019. Evening temperatures dropped to the teens with rain and medium wind gusts. I also purchased Paria’s thermodown 15 sleeping bag and recharge XL. I will review those separately.I did set up and take down once at home before packing and recommended you do the same. Although this is a 2p tent, due to its lightweight and packing size I intend to use this for backpacking to hold just myself and my gear. After spending 3 nights in the tent I am confident it can hold two adults as comfortably if not better as any other 2p tent on the market, specifically because of the pole construction for the headroom.Great tent! Upon arrival It was a pleasant surprise to see that Paria has reinforced the edges with stitching in a pop of red.The tent goes up fast and with minimal effort. Paria’s lightweight stakes and little loop of cord attached to each made packing up in cold weather and pouring rain a breeze. I was done light years before my cohikers. Excellent touch Paria.The guy out lines are light and easy to attach. During night 3 It rained with medium wind gusts. I can confidently say the tent did a great job keeping myself and gear dry while deflecting the wind.My boots were kept in the vestibule all three nights with no issues. The vestibule provided enough room for me to make breakfast while it was raining and not get wet. The dual action zippers in both the mesh and cover are easy and usable, while helpful to be able to peek out from either top or bottom.I pitched the tent on a slight incline with the back of the tent slightly higher. It was obvious with the way the tent is constructed that there would be more room to sit up and move around if my head was closest to the single entry door. I did not do that. I kept my head higher towards the back of the tent. I would encourage coordinating your sleeping quarters with head closests to door, you’ll find there is much more room to sit up and get your day going.I recommend this tent. 5 stars from me. It’s lightweight, easy to set up/pack up with ample room. With a tent of this quality it’s really hard to beat Parias price point compared to others on the market. You won’t be disappointed.

I bought this tent not long back for bike packing, I’ve used it 4 nights now and it really is a good buy for the money, fairly light and very roomy inside for a one man tent. I’d rather carry a bit more weight and have room to live in my tent than have a little coffin tent while bike packing. Overall very happy with it.

La tenda è leggera, facile da montare (pur avendo poca esperienza ed essendo la prima volta con questa ci ho messo circa 10 minuti prendendomela con calma), quando è chiusa nel suo sacchetto è compatta, il tarp sottotenda impermeabile che offre una protezione in più è incluso, i materiali sono buoni, è ben costruita e ha un design funzionale, per essere una singola non è soffocante e lascia abbastanza spazio per muoversi dentro e ci si può stare tranquillamente seduti.Per quanto riguarda i contro: le due parti della cerniera della rainfly non sono perfettamente allineate, con uno scarto alla fine di 1,5cm circa, non è un problema visto che comunque si chiude bene ma è comunque un'imprecisione e le cuciture finali, sempre della cerniera esterna, sembrano eseguite in maniera approssimativa, anche sui due pezzetti di velcro che chiudono il paraspruzzi sopra la cerniera. Inoltre avrei preferito cerniere dall'aspetto un po più robusto invece sono piuttosto sottili immagini per risparmiare peso e spazio. In generale sono soddisfatto dell'acquisto. La consiglio a chi cerca una tenda da trekking/backpacking 3 stagioni e non vuole spendere troppo, il rapporto qualità prezzo sembra più che adeguato.

Wir haben uns das Bryce 2P von Paria Outdoor Products als Ersatz für ein nach längerem Gebrauch defektes MSR Hubba Hubba zugelegt und während einer dreiwöchigen Trekkingreise in der kalifornischen Sierra Nevada (s. Fotos) intensiv getestet.Das Alu-Gestänge ist vorne und hinten Y-förmig ausgebildet und hat damit bereits ohne Abspannungen bei Einspannung in die Ösen des Innenzeltes einen stabilen Stand. Der Aufbau ist insgesamt nach kurzer Übung recht einfach. Der mitgelieferte Footprint (zweite Bodenplane zum Schutz des Innenzeltes) macht einen flexiblen Aufbau (z.B. nur Footprint und Überzelt als leichter Wetterschutz) möglich. Verarbeitung von Gestänge, Innen- und Außenzelt sowie Abspannungen sind gut. Die Reißverschlüsse am Eingang sind leichtgängig und wirken robust. Wir hatten keine Probleme oder Beschädigungen während unserer Touren.Mit optionalem Footprint (ca. 250 g, kann man zur Gewichtseinsparung auch weglassen) wiegt das gesamte Zelt einschl. Heringen etwa 2,1 kg und ist damit etwas schwerer als das MSR Hubba Hubba. Das Zelt lässt sich klein verpacken und gut im Trekking-Rucksack verstauen.Das Platzangebot entspricht vergleichbaren 2-Personen-Trekkingzelten. Die Liegefläche ist für zwei Erwachsene und 50 cm breite Luftmatratzen / Iso-Matten vollkommen ausreichend. Die Seitenwände sind wegen einer fehlenden Querstange etwas stärker geneigt als z.B. beim MSR Hubba Hubba, wirklich störend war das nicht. Jedoch ist die Apsis des Bryce am Fronteinstieg recht klein. Sie reicht zum Abstellen der Trekkingstiefel, nicht jedoch für größere Rucksäcke. Außerdem ist der Eingang stark geneigt und hat kein ausgeprägtes Vordach. Das erleichtert Ein- und Ausstieg. Nachteilig ist, dass es bei geöffnetem Eingang direkt in das Zelt regnen kann. Im Zelt gibt es zwei kleine praktische Seitentaschen (für Brille, Wertsachen etc.) und zwei Haken (z.B. für Lampe) am Zeltdach.Bei kräftigem Wind stand das Bryce mit seitlichen Abspannungen sicher. Leichter Regen machte ebenfalls keine Probleme (abgesehen vom erwähnten kleinen Manko des Eingangs). Die Lüftung war gut, auch wenn sich bei Windstille natürlich etwas Kondenswasser an der Innenseite des Außenzeltes bildete. Dann ist es vorteilhaft, die zusätzlichen seitlichen Abspannungen anzubringen, damit das Außenzelt nicht auf dem Innenzelt aufliegt.Nach der Lieferung hatten wir eine kleine Reklamation, die vom Kundenservice von Paria Outdoor Products sehr schnell und auf deutsch beantwortet und geregelt wurde. Das war sehr gut und könnte bei einem Markenhersteller kaum besser sein!Insgesamt haben wir die Wahl unseres neuen Trekkingzeltes nicht bereut und werden auch in Zukunft mit dem Bryce auf Tour gehen. Angesichts des im Vergleich zu bekannteren Anbietern mit ähnlichen Produkten deutlich günstigeren Preises ist das Bryce 2P uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen.
