Looks like it came out of a christmas cracker!
I mean that in terms of quality, this thing is really flimsy and I'm not confident using it. It won't last unless you absolutely baby it, I imagine.Considering all the different component parts that need to be made for a tripod and all the assembly required, I think this is about as cheap as you could go with it still being functional. The walls of the legs are super thin and if you sat on this, it's game over. The thinnest, lowest legs in particular could be bent by a small child, so watch out if you have any of those running around! My boys (4 and 7) are desperate to play with it as a gun, but I can't let them as they'd break it in minutes. The bolts that are used to fasten/tighten the various swinging joints are the cheapest plastic possible and they give off an odour, which indicates it is really cheap and soft. If you over tighten this, it will break and be useless. All that being said, is this terrible? No. I'll be using it to make YouTube videos and it will be in my garden or set up inside, so no problem. It is heavy enough so that if you put your phone in portrait mode, then make it horizontal, it won't fall over (I have a 6.7 inch phone), so you can use it to film your hands if you're unboxing things etc. My wife uses it to film her nail technician YouTube videos and it just about gets into a decent 'over hand' angle.I can quite easily see me taking this out on hikes too, with no problem. It is really, really lightweight, so I could carry this all day and not notice it. I'd be worried about a sudden gust of wind blowing it over if I set it up on a mountain top, but aside from that, I think this would be good for taking 'selfies' with the rear, high-quality camera and also nice panoramic pics too. On that point, the bluetooth fob you get with it for taking buttons will definitely break if you sat on it! Cheap as anything and really thin plastic. I dropped it on the kitchen floor when unboxing it and the battery went flying! Didn't snap the plastic, but I think that was more luck than anything else.NB: I am using it with a smart phone, but would I put my £600+ SLR on top of this and walk away to take a pic via bluetooth, or grab something from bag? Hell no. It's too flimsy. If you do have an expensive camera, don't cheap out on something that will be used alongside it. Spend a bit more and get a good quality one as this really is the cheapest you could go on a tripod without it being unusable.Recommended if you're using it inside for vlogging or something similar and you'll only take it out on occasion.
