A good book for increasing understanding of my bikes
Some of the books on offer are a bit long in the tooth. This one is up to date enough and has been useful.

Excellent little book for the novices
I am a 50 year old female cyclist and I needed straightforward step by step guidance on how to carry out minor repairs and adjustments to my bike, as I cycle regularly as a commuter and for pleasure. I soon discovered it was idiotic, expensive and inconvenient to keep taking my bikes to my cycle shop for adjustments which I should be able to do myself. This book is excellent, giving step by step guides with clear pictures on how to carry out many types of bike repairs. It covers bike maintenace generally for all type of bikes, some of which I probably would not feel confident to tackle (yet). But I take the book with me in my rucksack everywhere I go on the event of any problems occurring. I am really pleased with the book and would recommend it to both novices and the more experienced individuals. Has saved me a lot of time and money.

A Good Quick Reference
Quite Extensive in what it covers, but consequently not as detailed as it could be - but then it is only a small book. That said, it contains enough that someone who is quite mechanically minded would be able to complete most if not all of the maintenance contained in the book. It's small enough to fit in a backpack if you went out for a long run and didn't feel confident over any fixes you might need to make on the road. It would be easier to use if it were spiral bound, but then it would be more expensive to produce. Not the most detailed bike manual, but a good, quick reference.
