SoffeMen's Classic Cotton Pocket Short

I recently lost 55 lb and found I needed some new shorts I selected these and I am very happy they fit perfectly well made and I ended up buying three pair

I read many reviews for cotton jersey knit shorts and initially selected six pair from three different companies (different brands). My plan was to determine which I liked the most, then buy more. However, only the Soffe was shipped through Amazon for free. The other four shorts (from two different companies) were going to cost almost $18 for shipping charges! For someone that' s looking at shorts that cost from $10 to $14, it simply didn't make sense to spend in excess of the cost of the shorts to have them shipped. So, I opted to get four pair of the Soffe. I needed a Large, based upon the sizing chart. But since they were supposed to be 100% cotton, I up-sized and ordered XL to allow for potential shrinkage. I ordered black. They were made in El Salvador and are labeled as 100% cotton. I'm recently retired and purchased the shorts for piddling around the shop. For the price and my use, I'm completely satisfied. If you will be carrying relatively heavy objects in the pockets (i.e., a 25' carpenter's measure), the draw string could become an issue. While I don't consider the draw sting to be completely useless, it does come close.PROSThe fabric is reasonably thick and heavyUp-sizing to the XL was probably a good choiceThe elastic waist band is wide and sufficient and may function in lieu of the draw sting (See CONS)They have pockets (for light weight items)CONSLength - Unless you're close to 6', the XL will come down to your knees or just below. I'd prefer that they not come down that far. I'm not tall (5' 8") and the shorts cover my knees. If I pull the waist band up just below my arm pits, the length's about right, mid-thigh - of course I couldn't be seen in public like that. They've only been washed once - maybe they'll shrink more with each washing . . . and there's always the option of having the length taken up.Draw String - The draw string doesn't go completely around the waist band. It's sewn into waist. While I don't see an issue with this as long as the shorts are new, but I can envision a time when the draw string will tear out.

Great fit and feel. Unfortunately, stuff falls out of pockets when you sit but no biggie.

I've abandoned Russell and Champion, because of quality issues the last few years. Tried Soffe, got the oxford instead of gray, since the oxford was supposed to be 100% cotton and the gray was 90%/10% cotton/poly. Arrived and it was 90%/10% cotton poly. These are for my workouts, so not as critical as with running (I don't react well to polyester). Was disappointed that it was not 100% cotton.The quality is of a level that Russell and Champion used to have ... which is to say I am very happy with the product quality, fit and workmanship. I think these will last a long time in my workout gear rotation. I may try the darker colors next, they too were advertised as 100% cotton ... if they are, then Soffe will become my go-to brand for running shorts. If not, if the darker colors are like the oxford, advertised as 100% cotton but actually 90%/10% cotton/poly, then I will move on to another brand.All that said, if 10% polyester is not a sticking point for you, then these are very nice shorts and would recommend them. Would recommend to Amazon that they update the product description so that it shows the oxford color is not 100% cotton, so folks know what they are getting.

My husband loves these work out shirts. They’re comfortable, look good and launder well.

The shorts are fine, but the texture didn’t feel the way I thought it would. On the description it says that its 90% cotton, but when I checked the tag inside the shorts it said only 50% cotton

I purchased this item for my husband and he likes how they fit, not too short, likes the pockets and he can even sleep in them. The fabric is soft and the string inside the waistband can be adjusted to fit just right.

I must say this is a very nice CCP short. I am happy with the texture and feel that its not 100 % cotton which is good. It has that nice comfort and rugged feel to it. I am pleased with this and am getting another in green and hope its the same. the material is thick enough for me and i tend to be a little cranky. take a chance like me.

Took a chance on these. Fit great, very comfortable (feel like sweat pants), quality cotton. Very happy with purchase, good value for the money.

I am 5’4” and 200 lbs. x large was way too big. I should have gotten a large.

I wear 38” jeans and I’m 5’10. I bought a xxl and the waste of these fit snug, don’t need the drawstring.Pros: comfy good for leisure, the material feels like a heavy cotton t-shirt which I like.pockets are a decent depth for my iPhone XCons: they are very wide shorts (Airy) and the are quite long they hang past the knee.Like I said these shorts are more for chillin at home or PJ’s look kinda funny out in public with these IMO
