Camco 39842 RhinoFLEX 45 Degree Sewer Hose Swivel Fitting

Twenty years ago when I was pretty new at all of this, an older gentleman (probably my age now) struck up a conversation with me at the dump station island (which will always feel strange to me) and told my wife and I that the smartest accessory we could buy for dumping was a clear fitting. His argument was that the clear fitting literally provides a window into the "stuff' that's coming out, and that you basically want to empty and flush until the water flows out clear. Fair enough. Probably don't need to elaborate on that.I've probably owned four or five clear fittings over the years and I'll never be without one now. The straight ones are OK, but these 45° angled fittings are much better. There's less leverage and stress against the fitting and the hose falls down naturally towards the ground and lasts longer because the end won't want to crack so quickly.The final piece of the puzzle though was to get this Camco Rhino version. I switched to the Rhino hoses probably fifteen years ago and I'll never use another brand (at least not on purpose). This fitting couples with my favorite hose just perfectly.

Great, high quality, sturdy piece. Great visibility of discharge materials; easy to see when clean. Easy to clean the item after use. Easy to connect and disconnect; great, secure seal during use.

I needed to replace the black tank drain hose on my RV, and wanted a 45° fitting to attach the drain line to my RV to facilitate better and faster draining of my black tank. This fitting was easy to install on my RV, and is clear to allow me to watch the draining of my black tank. It is made of high quality components and has a tight no leak, no smell connection.

And this makes it no more fun. It’s just one of those things I needed. And it didn’t leak. So there. It did it’s job.

The cap I just replaced had smooth nubs to try and grab to remove the cap. This new one has tabs I can grip or put the sewer wrenches on if I have to

Im new to rv camping. My buddies first suggestion to buy something for camper was this. And hes right, now i can actually see all the dirtywaste water I dump and makes its so much easier after a weekend camping. I can see when the dirtywater/waste is out and see when you clean out tank.

Does what i needed and makes pump out easier being able to see what is getting stuck or not

My wife asked me why we needed this but after I showed her the benefit of using it - she thought every trailer should have one.There are two benefits to this 45 degree sewer coupling.1 - The tank outlets on our trailer are fairly low to the ground making it difficult to dump the tanks sometimes depending on the ground terrain. The 45 degree bend creates additional clearance but is not to sharp a bend as to impede the flow of liquid from the holding tanks.2 - While I purchased this adapter mainly for the 45 degree elbow the most beneficial feature is the Clear window which allows you to view the progress and contents of your holding tank while you're dumping it. No more guessing if you're black tank waste is sufficiently broken down and your tank treatment is working. You can view the sludge as it passes through the clear window. Likewise seeing the quality of the water when emptying the grey tank is equally beneficial. If you see a large debris item you don't have to guess "What plugged my hose" or "Why is the flow of my hose so slow". The clear viewing window is also great for rinsing your tanks and lets you know when your tanks and house is sufficiently flushed clean.All in All this 45 degree adapter is very useful. Once you try it, you won't want to empty your tanks without it.I would recommend this adapter to any RV owner especially for the Clear viewing window.

Absolute junk! I bought this in the fall for the next years camping season and the first time I used it with the brand new rhinoflex hose I also bought this elbow leaked like crazy. I stretched my hose and used it with out this elbow there were no leaks. After googling it I have found many others with the same issue on the elbows. And there are orings in place. If I didn’t have my black water tank leaking all over I would have taken a pic!

This product is great for viewing the wastewater as it is emptying. (recommended) for all RVers! The 45’ bend, softened the flow into our drain hose.+ I’m afraid to inform potential buyers that ours leaks also. (The rubber seal needs to be a little thicker.) I will try a small application of silicone under the rubber and let it set up to increase the thickness a little. WILL LET YOU KNOW IF IT HELPS?
