When my old digital thermometer finally gave up the ghost, I decided it was time for an upgrade — something more reliable, accurate, and better built. After a bit of searching, I came across the “ThermoPro TP19H Digital Meat Thermometer with Ambidextrous Backlight.” At just under £15, it seemed like great value for a quality thermometer, especially given how often I use one for everything from roasts and BBQs to baking and reheating. With Prime delivery, it arrived the next day — as always, perfectly packaged and well protected. Right out of the box, the build quality impressed me. The body feels solid and durable, not flimsy like some of the cheaper alternatives I’ve owned in the past. I went for the orange version, which not only looks smart but also makes it easy to spot in a busy kitchen. When I unfolded the temperature probe, I could feel how smooth and secure the hinge mechanism was. The instant activation and bright backlight make it clear this is a well-engineered bit of kit. Within just a few seconds, it displayed the ambient room temperature, accurate to the decimal, and ready for action. I particularly like the ambidextrous auto-rotating display, which means no matter which hand you use, the numbers are always upright — perfect for quick checks while cooking. And the waterproof design is a big bonus, as it can be rinsed under the tap without worry (something my old thermometer definitely couldn’t handle!). The strong magnets on the back are another clever touch — I keep mine stuck to the fridge, so it’s always within easy reach when I’m cooking. Changing between Celsius and Fahrenheit is quick and simple too, just by unlocking the screen. It’s clear this thermometer has been designed with real practicality in mind — it’s fast, accurate, and solidly built. I’ve been using it for everything from checking chicken and steaks to curries, and it’s never missed a beat. I’m confident the durability and engineering quality will see this thermometer lasting me for years. An excellent meat thermometer. It is quite fast, but not the quickest. The magnet does hold on to appropriate metal services. It’s easy to use and the instructions are clear- it has a calibration process so can be reset. Also mine was set to Fahrenheit not Celsius, so had to change that on arrival because Fahrenheit makes no sense to me. It probably gets its best value for money from being water resistant - I use it when barbecuing or grilling outside and have tragically lost a few cheaper meat thermometers by leaving them out in the rain. I haven’t had to mourn this one yet so it’s a major bonus. The rotating/flipping display is also handy because you can’t forget to hold it the right way up.

Great price and solid quality. ThermoPro is always my go-to brand for anything temperature related, and this model delivers again. It’s well built, gives quick and accurate readings, and the battery lasts ages. Easy to use. Highly recommended for kitchen or BBQ use.

Works straight out of the box after you have inserted the supplied battery using the supplied screwdriver, it has a clear digital readout that can be changed to either Fahrenheit or centigrade its also magnetic. It quickly displays the temperature of the item you’re cooking, it’s quite compact and doesn’t require much space for storing. Priced on par with other similar items.

If you have an aquarium then this is the best thermometer I've found, it's easy to use, easy to switch on and off, you just open and close the probe. It's accurate to 0.5C which is precisely what you need with an aquarium when you don't want your fresh water being more than 1 degree different. And, of course, it's waterproof. My other fall-back thermometers weren't, one broke and the other fogged up so I just bought a new one before I broke two.

This is an essential piece of kit for every home learning to cook things in an air fryer as well as conventional cooking and BBQs. Beautifully made and functional the slim probe rapidly tells you the temperature of something at its tip so you know exactly whether the centre of a M&S nibble is hot enough to enjoy, e.g. 75 degrees or higher, regardless of how burnt the outside looks! Often it is half the time you'd expect from reading the packet instructions for a fan oven if the items are small so the hot air can circulate well. I haven't tested the feature which makes this particular thermometer so perfect - it says it is waterproof . . . its predecessor cost twice as much from a high street shop and didn't claim to be waterproof so predictably it died when inadvertently got washed up . . . Ideally I won't test this feature but it would be nice if it was, as it says on the tin, waterproof. The other thing I don't know about yet is its power source. Works really well from the box - switches itself on very cleverly just by noticing movement of being picked up if the probe is out and switches the back light out quickly if left on the side so it saves power very well. The battery compartment seems to simply be guarded by a cross head screw . . . but I'm not openning it till I have to. So far I'm extremely impressed by this piece of kit.
