Positives - this was the simplest of the 3 different bunion products I bought, and it was the most gentle and easy to use. While my foot was at its most sensitive, this was the one I could use most easily, and even wear at night while sleeping. I found adding one loose traditional sock on top of this one helped shield further from the pain the sheets could cause. Unlike some other reviewers, I didn’t have any issue with the sock being loose or moving around at all - if anything, for my size 10.5-11 male foot, it was potentially a little tight at times. The back edge of the sock has some “grip” on the interior of the sock to keep it from moving, but even if it had moved on me a little, that’s not the functional area you’d be concerned about anyway. Cons: All 3 devices I tried were a little painful while initially putting them on a very sensitive foot - in the case of this one, getting the big toe into the sleeve was the painful part. Overall, though, it was the least painful one I purchased, and the pain demote it on was manageable overall. I recommend getting the little toes in the large hole first and then doing the large toe (and I have tried several different approaches). There’s no getting around the fact that the big toe sleeve is a very very snug fit for a man’s foot though. I also bought a similar sock that has an added piece of gel on the large toe to create some gap/distance to the second toe. That device was very similar to this sock, but a bit harder to get on when the foot was tender, and it felt even tighter. That device was probably a little more effective in the end analysis, once I could stomach getting it on, but it was very very similar to this one and this one was very inexpensive, so I use this one if the shoes are smaller or when I am sleeping, and I use the one with the gel when I have larger shoes or no shoes at all. Both of these types of socks I purchased have a bit of cushion around the bony area at the base of the big toe on the inside of the foot, just in front of the arch of your foot. It’s built into the sock and it is helpful for sorta compressing that area and dampening pain in/around that whole area. This product does come with 2 socks, but if you only need one, both can be used one either foot with no problem.

I had a pair of these before my lapidus bunionectomies and I didn't find them to be very helpful. Now that I have had my surgeries, I ordered this pair to try because my feet are sensitive to the sheets when in bed. Now, they are very helpful; however, the problem with this pair is that they are quite snug on my sz 10W feet. I'm hoping they stretch out some. I am not having any problem with them rolling down like some reviews have mentioned but might be because they fit so snug on me. Of course, they will need frequent washing if you walk on the floors without slippers or shoes on and just having stinky feet. Hence, more than one pair would be nice to have. These will not repair a bunion nor will any of the other items for sale on the market. They only help with the discomfort and symptoms of having a bunion. Or in my case, the recovery of the surgeries.

These have taken the pain out of wearing some of my favorite shoes. Easy to slide on. Most of my shoes cover most of them. But do consider what shoes you plan to wear them with as they could stick out a look pretty bad.

It is a great idea but is way too tight for my foot. I’m an average size so others that like it must have a small foot. I’m hoping it will stretch out for it to be comfortable for me.

I had bunion surgery in 1992 on both feet, but on my left foot, they only scraped the bone, which has recently started to bother me when wearing shoes. This gel pad has made a difference when wearing my tennis shoes, I don't feel so much pressure in that area.
