I have an ancient gas hob and it's clicker ignition thingy gave up the ghost over a decade ago. I have been using refillable gas ignitors ever since and they are a pain to refill and not very easy to use so I had become quite used to a quite scary time when lighting the burners - sometime the gas ignitor would work first time and sometimes it wouldn't meaning I might get a massive flare when it did.This is so much more relaxing and reliable.To begin with the magic wand as I am now naming it - arrived with a full battery which I could see because when I slid the switch to 'on' the blue lights all lit up!I then tried it with my gas burners. No dreadful pause - as soon as the gas came on the little arc of zappiness on the magic wand (it appears when you press a little button) lit it quietly and efficiently in milliseconds. I switch it off immediately afterwards and put it ready to hand near the hob.I will be so happy to get rid of the refillable gas lighters now and can keep my remaining butane to fill my creme brulee torches.I am very happy.The magic wand arrives in a nice cardboard box that is easily recyclable and it comes with a little recharging cable that fits easily into my USB adaptor plug in my kitchen.I chose the black version.

Really nice little product, much better than struggling with a gas lighter as the long neck of this is perfect for deep candle jars etc.It's really good for its price and the fact there is an off switch for the arc is a good idea so it takes a slider then a button press to work.I love that's it's really light and we've used it all over the house including lighting the BBQ, that being said the top section barely fits a candlewick in it to light and it's unnerving when it's basically touching the candle flame on ignition.All I have to say is this would be used for everything if the arc section was a little wider.Overall 4/5 stars is exactly where it should be. I do Recommend.

Easy and safe to use. A slide lock turns it on and a push button gets it zapping. And even though the slide lock is on, the thing turns itself off if it is not being used.I currently tend to use it to light a candle about 2 or 3 times a day and I probably need to recharge it about once or twice a month. Five lights on the side lets you know how much charge you have left. Doesn’t use the new USB C though but you’ll likely have a charger to do the job.

I love this product. Lights up straight away. No more having to click the lighter numerous time to light the candles. Battery life last ages then just simply plug in to charge. Just remember where you put the charger. Spent ages looking for mine. It's a lovely pink colour.

This lighter worked great for 1.5 years and then died off after 2 years so I guess this is fine?

Have had this now for a few months and use it daily to start our wood burner. Excellent, lasts approx 2 weeks before I need to recharge it and then it only takes about an hour to restore to full charge. Ended up buying another one as a gift for a friend.

This thing works great! The head is pretty small, but it lights candles and my little propane stove when camping. I even used it to melt paracord ends. The battery life will likely last a lifetime if you are just lighting candles, but if you use it constantly to burn things (which you probably shouldn't), the battery wears out pretty fast. However, it charges in minutes!

Many reviews commented on an unpleasant noise this device makes when in use. No one in my close or extended family noticed the "sizzling" noise being annoying or disturbing (and many ppl played with my new toy).Battery life is pretty good. For example, I just lit 12 candles (yes, its Christmas time in my household) and I lost 1 light dot but only because I did the same process yesterday. So, 24 candles to 1 light approximately (thats with idling time bc some candles don't take immediately). For those who scratch their head reading about "lights lost" while lighting- when you look at the lighter, you will notice 5 blue dots indicating life span of the battery.I use this lighter infrequently, aside from excessive Christmas candle lighting. Had this lighter for passed 2 pos and charged it once. I didn't charge it when it first came bc it showed 4 light dots.Reviewers also commented on the tip burning during candle lighting. I can't get technical as lighters are not my area of expertise but... The very tip of this lighter houses opposite ends that send electricity current from left to right creating surge that lights the candle. initially, those ends almost meet in the middle of the small space between two top tips and then during lighting a candle they burn. I was afraid that when they burn themselves out, they won't be able to light my candles. Guess what? With the amount of candles I needed to light this season alone, those ends have burnt next to puny stubs. Yet, they still work fine. I guess, they are manufactured to be long initially and then are meant to burn but continuously deliver the necessary energy surge.I will add to this review should this lighter ever disappoint me.At this time, I recommend purchasing this item.
