Almost everything grown in the ground, almost anywhere, contains at least trace levels of things like lead and cadmium which are on the California Proposition 65 list. These are naturally present in most soils. They may also have been introduced in larger amounts to the soils prior to a grower obtaining an organic certification, for which only three years of organic practices are required. If these elements things were introduced to the soil fifty years ago, they are likely still there, but have no bearing on a current organic certification.  Because these elements are present in the soil, they are absorbed by plants through their roots and there may be traces occurring in virtually all crops, including Organic crops. If you live in California, this warning label is literally on anything and everything, everywhere you go, to the point where it has completely lost its original purpose and intent. For the record, I think Herb Pharm's Peppermint Spirits is a fantastic product. I have been using it for years to replicate the beloved MetroMint water that is no longer sold. I use 1-2 drops in about 20 oz of water. The product is consistent in quality we have had no problems with it at all, and I highly recommend it.

I use it for headaches and cooking. I rub some on my temples and take a drop in my tea. For roaches or any bug, I use diatomaceous earth (DE). DE kills all bugs, it is microscopically sharp, sharp, SHARP!  (Crushed fossilized sea shells -> Diatoms). Bugs walk over it and it cuts their exoskeletons and they dehydrate and die.  Non toxic. Works mechanically not chemically. Food Grade available.
