What a great read this book is, quick delivery.

A great tribute to the healing capacity of our urban watersheds when visionary stewardship and recreational potential are forged in a common purpose. A timely book as Baltimore, MD looks at the holistic benefits of restoring Jones Falls, Herring Run, Stony Run and Gwynns Falls.The book reminds us that our most sustainable actions may sometimes be fishing our restored home waters rather than setting off to Patagonia, Tamchuka Peninsula or Alaska. A wonderfully researched book which also acknowledges the nearby cultural resources of each stream. Local guides get kudos as do their eateries. A must read if your town or city has watersheds which can capture a fly-fisher's imagination.

Very interesting book about fishing for trout in the UK's cities. Who knew there was such good trout fishing in the middle of London, Manchester and Glasgow! Well worth a read and a fish afterwards.

This is a great book. I fly fish the Yorkshire Dales for brown trout and grayling, and am constantly on the search for new rivers to explore. Theo Pike has done a fantastic job of compiling a directory of urban and recovering stretches of water, often available at bargain basement prices on day tickets, that offer fishing that is the equal of any I have encountered on the wilder upland streams. The sections on the industrial history of the water courses are fascinating and informative, and each chapter closes with a few paragraphs on the logistics of access and permits. This book assumes that the reader already knows what they are doing in terms of tackle, flies and techniques, but there are other books that fill that gap. The book is very well produced and the photographs are many, numerous, and of superb quality. My only recommendation for a future edition would be to include a map of the UK showing where the towns and rivers are.
