Artificial Japanese Bonsai Tree

When this first came, I did not think it looked real at all. Too full, so I pinched off some of the greenery and took my acrylic paints to the tree. I lightened up some tips of the dark green foliage of the tree, and made the plastic trunk look more realistic with several shares of brown. i then taped off the tree from the truly hideous ka-ka brown plastic and gave it a good spray with some Krylon made for plastic. A second coat, and it looked like a shiny celadon minty green container like the real ones do...finally. Now, if you are crafty like me, go for it and you will have a bonsai that looks like you paid a hundred bucks for at a florist's. Otherwise, I'd steer clear of this if you aren't willing to do an hour and a half of craft work!
