Look nice but not a good quality for make up application. The bush kept shedding a lot

An Excellent Choice for Any Applying Loose Powder, Bronzer, or Blush for a More Natural Appearance ...
I really like the “JAPONESQUE Kumadori Fan Brush” for the ability it gives me to apply bronzer or blush without it looking like I am heavy-handed. This brush allows me to apply either of those cosmetics and not have an obvious transition between them and my foundation/tinted moisturizer. Although I have not done so, I think this brush would also work well for applying loose powder. The 2 ¾” wide brush – measured from the top, outside corners straight across – provides ample coverage of your skin’s surface. The fan-shape gives you maximum control over application of the chosen loose powder-type cosmetic. I like the textured handle of the “JAPONESQUE Kumadori Fan Brush”. It has the look of being wrapped with a black cording. Even if your hands are wet, the brush handle’s surface allows you to hold the brush securely. The brush’s ferrule is also plastic. Synthetic brush bristles are very soft and will not irritate even the most sensitive skin. This mid-priced fan brush is a good choice for your use when applying different types of loose powder-style cosmetics. While I often find budget-friendly alternatives in art brushes, the fan-shaped brushes in the art/craft department are not as soft and often feature a mix of different bristle lengths that result in an uneven finished look to makeup. The “JAPONESQUE Kumadori Fan Brush” is an excellent choice in the cosmetic brush category. I recommend trying it – you may find as I did – that you really like this product.

Great brush for face powder and fallout cleanup
Typically the Sephora brand (both Pro and Regular) has been my go-to for makeup brushes because I like the quality for the price. But I've been hearing more about the Japonesque brand lately so I was curious to try these out, especially since the only fan brush I have is quite mini. This style of brush is very useful. It's nice for getting a soft dusting of setting powder (which is how I've been using it most often), But it's also handy for cleaning up any product fallout you might get, in my case mostly from eye shadow. I find the handle easy enough to hold, though since I am usually quick in sweeping on powder or cleaning up excess makeup, I'm not really using it long enough to notice any discomfort. It also feels nice enough on my face. I do wish the bristles were a tad softer, but they're not unbearably harsh either. The softness reminds me more of the regular Sephora line vs. Sephora Pro. I will also add that I haven't washed it, yet. So I'm curious to see how well it will continue to hold a fan shape (or be reshaped to look like new) after being washed.Overall for the price, I think this is a very nice brush

From the makeup artist at home, it's ok. Definitely not great.
The packaging, as shown was simple **see below for makeup artist feedback**So to turn this over to the makeup artist in the house for review past the packaging and look to the inexperienced eye. Here is what she shared with me- The overall weight was ok- The handle was acceptable but not for long amounts of work- The brushes were definitely a bit too stiff right away when handling it straight from the box- Tests with the brush confirmed it was a bit too harsh for even spreading- For quick work as a brush that can get lost when out it is fine, not for needed quality work- If you love the feel of this brush then you would adore some more expensive soft bristle ones of high qualitySo overall the opinion is the pricing makes it right for quick, not detailed, applications and is good to throw in the portable purse/makeup kit. It is too stiff for high end work and the handle is definitely not a long term usage in one sitting. Fine for quick applications or even young girls just getting into makeup.

Somewhat Disappointed
Awhile back, I had a friend comment on 'streakiness' in my loose powder application and suggested I buy a good brush to remove excess. I ended up with Ecotools line and have been happy with it - the extra softness and evenness of the fibers were well worth the xtra dollars. Similarly, I've started to explore the Japonesque line. I've been pleased with most of their products but this one just didn't live up to expections. I feel like this is a $2 product with a brand name lifting the price up.The handle has a molded plastic 'Japense sword hilt hemp rope weave' that I suppose is supposed to look fancy but just doesn't. For casual application, it's fine and your hand won't slip because of the ribbings. But for extended use for a fancy event, I don't think I'd be happy with it. The brush itself isn't as soft as my ecotools, oddly enough, and that's where the 3 star review comes in. I had expected much better, even at this price point. Although not soft, it does work well to remove the excess loose powder.

A high quality brush
Japonseque always have amazing quality brushes and I can confirm that the product I received was authentic. Being a make-up enthusiast I love high quality brushes as I feel they really make a difference to make-up application. This brush delivered. The bristles are extremely soft however, it is also dense enough to be effective. I believe the best use of this brush is highlighting or removing excess powder underneath the eye. The long handle of this brush also makes it extremely easy to hold and does not feel uncomfortable in my hand. Fan brushes are not often included in make-up brush sets. However, I feel this brush is essential for any make-up enthusiasts.

Lovely lightweight fan brush
JAPONESQUE Kumadori Fan BrushMost of my make-up brushes are by MAC and I hadn't come across Japonesque cosmetics or make-up tools before. This particular brush is part of the brand's Kumodori collection, named after the stage makeup worn by kabuki actors, which is typically brightly colored stripes or patterns over white foundation arranged to symbolize aspects of character's personality. So far as I can tell, this US-based company has nothing whatsoever to do with Japan and Japanese references are merely a gimmick. That said, the brush itself is lovely and light with a delicate fan of soft synthetic crueltry-free bristles at the end which is just perfect for softening and blending when contouring and sculpting.=== THINGS I LIKE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT ===* Lovely brush that works really well softening the edges on contouring and sculpting* Super lightweight brush that's easy to swish across the face with super-soft bristles* Unique elegant design: all black with a long tapered handled covered in thread that's wound around from base to tip and feels good in the hand* Cruelty-free synthetic fibres* Synthetic brush fibres are more hygienic than animal hair since there aren't the little imperfections in which dirt and germs can more easily hide* Price comparable to other premium make-up brushes=== NIGGLES ===* I'm not sure how long this corded handle design will last; perhaps it's a bit like rattan furniture and will start to unravel with bits poking out at some pointFor sale at the time of writing this review at £17.

Gorgeous brush, excellent for a sheer sweep of blush, highlighter or bronzer
I love this brush, it's so different and does an excellent job of what it claims to do, a sheer sweep of colour, not carefully blended and buffed blush or bronzer but an airbrush- like veil of colour to give a suggestion rather than a shout of colour. If you struggle to get a subtle wash of colour with a traditional brush or blend effectively this might be a good addition to your face kit. It's an excellent quality brush with plenty of soft bristles yet holding some stiffness so application isn't wishy washy. The bristles are tightly packed into the ferrule and have not shed even after washing. The handle is wrapped with coated wisteria, yes it sounds odd but it's not uncomfortable to hold at all and is very tight to the barrel though I can't see it lasting years. This I find excellent paired with a good quality bronzer (ie not orange based) or a pinky complexion powder for adding a sheen of colour to replicate a healthy outdoors but not baking in the sun look. Lightly load the long, firm but gently yielding bristles with powder product, tap off excess and sweep in one movement from nose corner to temples and across the top of the forehead. It is also a great brush to choose with a non glittery highlighter to add a dewy natural glow to your base without going for the 'strobe' look with a light single movement over the cheekbones.I have a huge collection of brushes from cheap but excellent to embrassingly expensive and a slight addiction to trying new ones, so to control the collection only what is good gets to stay, this is excellent for my needs (I'm super pale so packing on colour powder can make me look like coco the clown) and is unique in my collection so this will be a well loved brush.

Good option if the price is right
This is a good quality cosmetic brush that doesn't shed its bristles. There doesn't appear to be any metal components, just plastic and ratten. Generally speaking, fan brushes are used after eye make up is applied to dust away excess product and effect a final blending. They can also be used to dust away excess face powder. They are rarely included in regular brush sets but they are useful to the make up artist and home make up applier. On the occasions they are included in sets I always find the bristles too soft to effectively flick away excess powder. This one, I would say, is just right. Not too soft yet not too rigid to be scratchy. The decorative handle gives it an attractive Japanese look. It's a fair size. The fan itself measures 6 cm by just under 4 cm. It comes securely boxed but there's no plastic wallet to keep it in once you throw the box away. The length in total is 8 cm. If you are looking for a good quality, serviceable fan brush and the price is right, this would be a good option.
