Misleading product name!
The product Smart talky is a license free PMR446 walkie model. Similar to vertel smart talky, this has a physical difference of being a bit bulky, with removable antenna. As power rating 2W (watt) is mentioned in the name, license free hand-held radios operate with only in 0.5W. This is the legal limit under, mentioned by the guidelines provided by WPC wing. The range of this model particularly will be slightly better than team talky, because of it's long helical antenna. But, operating power is 0.5w, same as team talky. Team talky in urban areas with building will provide you with 500MTR-1KM (Max 1.5KM) with/without line of sight. This will eventually increase or decrease based on the height of usage, Building obstruction, rain, and other parameters. On a clean line of sight, it may give you a clear range upto 2KM.I would urge everyone who is planning to buy license free walkies (PMR446), should be having a ETA (Equipment type approval) document with you at all times. That piece of paper represents the following company's compliance with wireless policies of radio devices operating under specified frequency. Always request the seller for this ETA certificate. Even though it's mentioned license-free in the product sticker.
