Bad message for kids. Steer clear.
I had to stop reading this book to my son because we were so offended by the messages within. Aside from it being poorly written and not particularly interesting, it has a section that encourages the reader to feed a monster something that he is allergic to, in order to cause a severe allergic reaction. What a horrible thing to teach children to do! Our kids deserve better. There are so many delightful books for kids out there. Steer clear of this one.

What was the author thinking?
Please do not buy this book. There is actually a page in it that asks you to feed a monster the thing that it is allergic to so that the monster will loose its teeth. Our children have severe allergies. To the one in 13 kids with allergies (potentially life-threatening) this would seriously freak a lot of allergy kids out. This would be like a bully trying to give my kid food at school to watch him vomit. This is awful....

Do not buy for children with allergies
A psychologist should have known better than to include a page about causing a severe allergic reaction. My daughter is already afraid she'll die from her food allergies. This was not a good bo book for her at all.

Bad anti-social message. Hurtful to kids with allergies
What is this book teaching kids? This has a horrible message. How did this ever get published? It has a scene which tells the characters to attack a monster with allergies using his allergies. What in the world? You know who has allergies in the real world? Real people, real kids. Kids who have to deal with bullying and instances of other people taunting them with their allergen. It happens. It doesn't and shouldn't need to be depicted in such a frivolous way for kids.

Food allergy parents be aware.
Author is clueless to how offensive and dangerous this could be for allergy kids!

Pictures are the only good thing.
This book in the series is by far the least of my favorites. The pictures are wonderful while the text is quite unimaginative. Sometimes it rhymed and sometimes it did not which felt uncomposed and incomplete. Almost like it was rushed.
