All as described
All as described. I'm a trained Luthier, I can sharpen, but someone unused to these would benefit from some teaching. Japanese Water stones can be different.

My knifes can finaly cut trough food again.
I have now finally been able to cutt and bit rupp trough meat and vegetables, as I have sharpened the tiny splintered edges away. It's also a relaxing thing, the sharpening of a blade. Has something of zen.

Impressive kit. Difficult job to do.
The only thing that I didn’t like was the angle guide. I found it very obtrusive to use. Would be better it the white bars on either side acted as a roller.

Arrives in an awesome gift box!
I was not expecting the packaging! It's a generously sized box with extra thick foam padding and labelled with words in the "Chiller" font. Haha. More than adequate though, and gift-presentable, too. With the included grits, you have everything you need to buy until the stones wear out.Stones arrived flat and this kit has everything you would need to roll for an outstanding price. These are a very common type of stone--you will see them in various colors and with different words stamped on the sides. They are all the same type of softer, faster-wearing stones that are designed to offer fresh grit constantly as you work at the expense of durability. I press very lightly when using the highest grits to get the best results for that reason. But the abrasive is very good--aluminum oxide/corundum. It will stand up to your steel. It's the binder that is a little on the soft side compared to some other types of stones on the market. You can also gouge into them if you are inexperienced or impatient--they are designed to work by exposing sharp, fresh grit, not from downward force. Keep this in mind and you can work within the concept of these stones. This is different from something like an India or Arkansas stone which is harder and slow wearing (and more expensive).I would not store these in water! Let them dry instead. If you have water nearby you don't need to soak it either. Just keep offering it water as you go. This a little lazy but it is better than soaking and then removing from water while you work for 10 minutes. Use plenty of water to achieve the best finish. If you let it get dry it will cut more aggressively and you are more likely to gouge into the stone.I would also not bet the highest grit is truly 8000, but it's very fine and finer than the others. That's enough for me. Realistic sharpening for knives and woodworking tools is something like 250 for first shaping, then more often just 400-800 for sharpening and 1-5K for final honing if you wanted to. Plus I like to strop. I am not worried about moving up 1K grit at a time and I will use the high grits interchangeably. If you expect high grit accuracy with these you may be a little disappointed.

Not bad, not the best either.
Not the best quality stone. But dose the job.

Super Produkt.
