Cobalt Aquatics X-Large Cichlid Hut Breeding Cave, 6.5"x6.5"x3"

Very nice product but very fragile and unfortunately mine arrived broken. The front was completely shattered which made for a larger opening which actually seems to work for my fish so I decided to keep it despite the shipping damage. I have it with the opening facing backwards in my tank. My more timid fish like to use it as a shelter. It appears to have been poorly packaged in a larger than necessary box with not enough packing material which allowed it to bounce around in the box. I would have given it 5 stars if it was packaged better because I really like the product.

I prefer the look of terra cotta/ceramic in my aquarium, and I prefer American made. It is smooth with no jagged edges, important for my Axolotl. I love that I don't have to worry about it leaching chemicals into my tank. I ended up enlarging the opening for the Axolotl with a fine sander attachment, but I would not recommend that unless you don't mind risking breakage and wasting money. It has gotten a bit small for the Axolotl, but she still uses it. I wish Cobalt Aquatics would create some adult Axolotl sized hides!

I made the mistake of assuming that extra large would coincide with the largest Cichlid size. They are not as big as I imagined. BUT the quality is great, they hold up well. I do wish they had a larger size for full-sized Cichlids though.
