I 100% recommend this if you’re looking for an alternative to paying $12 every month for a subscription. If you already have a Blink Sync Module 2 plugged in at home, all you need is this USB storage to make local recording work. That’s it. No subscription required. The only real difference with the paid plan is a slightly faster live view, and honestly, the difference is very minimal. It’s not worth paying monthly for something that barely feels different in everyday use. With this USB: • You get local storage • Enough space for weeks to about a month of recordings (depending on usage) • You can easily delete old clips and start fresh • No recurring fees, ever Another bonus I noticed: My Blink camera runs on AA batteries, and battery life seems better now without the active subscription running in the background. That alone is a nice added benefit. Bottom line — if you don’t want to keep throwing money away every month and already have the Sync Module 2, buy this USB and be done with it. I have no doubt, and you can mark my words, all your blink cameras indoor and outdoor, and this USB plug in will fail. (And I don't mean in 20 years! Within 1-2 years or maybe even 3 years. They will overheat or be "too cold". You may have to replace the batteries often. Even if you are in a moderate climate and you setup minimizes battery use, somehow some way they will fail you. It's the product itself. Look elsewhere. Just when you are away, and you need it to work...it won't. Why did I give it 5 stars? It's because people tend to skip the "one" star reviews as if these are reviews from individuals who aren't technologically savvy. Once you find yourself calling customer support, their help will amount to your employer's I.T. department's help (or worse). They will tell you to restart /unplug it and also to unplug your modem. and simply restart. Buyer beware!

Purchased this awhile back and never got it to work. It's for sync module 2 but it said the usb drive is not compatible or I got a bad one. Update: Working after reformatting it.

Works great. When you don’t need all of the bells and whistles, nice option to save recordings without a subscription in saving money.

Very minimal dimension about the case, but very big dimension to memory data.
