Perfect for zero waste coffee, price is exactly what is think it's worth
I use it on my stovetop pretty much every day and I've had it for a few weeks now without issue.I dont use any paper filters but I do have a small metal tea infuser column that I pour the coffee through to catch any larger grounds, which are minimal.I got this for home use, I like the idea of no paper filters and my pour over coffee setup doesn't make enough at one time, plus this way was much faster I've found, maybe 15 minutes. But I like strong coffee and I like this style of brewing because it reminds me of camping and it gets a super bold flavor, but I'll admit it's not for you if you are going for a specialty coffee flavor like what a French press can deliver. This is more bare bones but really strong bare bones (if that makes sense).Overall the quality is exactly perfect for my needs, its easy to clean and nothing has broken on it. It also stays warm for a good amount of time after it's done.Definitely would recommend for in-house brewing or for camping.

Classic function, excellent price, large base
Honestly, I would have preferred a smaller percolator in a retro design like the ones my grandparents had in the 50s 60s, but my new thermador gas stove has giant gas burners (I had to upgrade to all wide-bottom pots and pans) so I was looking for a perc with a wider base and this fits the bill. It's XL capacity (10 cup) and I really only need half that.pro's:I like that it's all metal so I don't have to worry about plastic/wood handle melting in the flame.Added bonus, it was more moderately priced than other modelsIn my case, the extra wide bottom is ideal for my stove topcons:Arrived later than expected.I had a to practice a few times until I brewed a perfect pot-- hadn't used a stove top perc in 40 years. Watch some youtube if you've never used a perc. Other reviews that complain the pot is broken are user errors. If you don't get the ratios just right you can end up with grounds in your coffee cup.I wish the metal was heavier stainless steel and I wish the base were all cast, up the sides. I suspect this is coated aluminum? It's very light weight and the solder on the base edge is already darkened and bubbling out from first-use, so I won't be surprised if the metal or the seal doesn't last a year? But I can't give a strike against it, because that hasn't happend yet, and.... you get what you pay for.Came with ZERO paperwork: just the metal pot in a box. NO instructions. But it's classic, basic percolator design, so it's not rocket science. Water in the bottom, grounds in the top.

Not a good choice IMO (in my opinion)
ConsFirst off there should be holes in the side of the coffee ground basket to help keep it from boiling over. The handle could easily be made or covered with a material other than just the metal so it doesn't get so hot that you need a mitt to take it off the stove. Granted, if you plan on using this on a camp fire this might be okay. Made decently well (except for flaw I mentioned about holes in basket) and priced reasonably. Goodly amount of coffee grounds tend to get into the coffee by the way.PRO'sIf you put very few grounds in the basket and perk longer it comes helps keep it from boiling over and you use less then half the coffee grounds in other coffee makers.I will be returning it as soon as I wash it up.

Does not work well at all
The top lid does not close tight. The grounds of the coffee end up at the bottom of the pot, which I believe is due to the fact that there are only holes at the top and bottom of the insert. Yes it does perk, but even over a campfire because the lid does not seat well the grounds just run over the top. I will keep only because it is excellent for just keeping water in for those of us that drink tea when we are camping or a little hot water for sponge bath. Perfect for just keeping water hot. Not for percolating coffee.

Good product.
Basic percolator.Great for camping. The cover knob (bubble spot on top) was made of thick plastic so I was afraid it would melt easily but it has not so far.Easy to clean.Good product for what I paid for it.
