What’s better the ep3, ep4 or ep5?

Depends on your application. EP3's only have a double baffle. 4's and 5's have a triple. 4's have a Noise Reduction Rating of 12dB caps out, 24dB caps in. EP5's are set capped for an NRR of 26dB. EP3's and 4's allow you to hear conversations when they're in and uncapped. Depends on your use. If it's for your lawnmower only and you don't talk to people, 6's. If you're looking for multiple application, 3's or 4's. I prefer the fit of the 3's, but I also wear hearing aids on the daily.

What is the difference between the ep3 and ep4? other sources list the ep3 as a lower nrr than the amazon description.

The nrr rating is the same. The ep4 is triple flange instead of double flange
