An excellent replacement for a standard central heating thermostat. I am writing this review plus wiring advice as there was not a single line written about diy wiring. Please note that this is entirely at your risk and you should seek advice if no familiar with basic electric principles.I replaced our outdated Honeywell T40 mechanical thermostat for approximately 5 minutes. In a standard central heating boiler arrangement in the UK you will be confronted with 4 wires - COM (live) usually brown, Neutral usually grey (blue), Switched live (to boiler) black (brown) and Ground yellow and green. I have provided a diagram in the third photo of how to wire the Awow thermostat.Fixing to the wall is no problem as the bracket is indeed designed for a standard UK wall box.In terms of functionality - you need to install an app called Smart Life and create an account. Then press one of the arrows for 3 seconds to activate wifi module in the thermostat and follow the instructions in the booklet for pairing. When choosing a device from the list provided in the app, choose Thermostat (Wifi), booklet says something else. Mobile phone control and pairing is superb with lots of scheduling options and modes. Alexa also works very well.Good luck and welcome to the 21st century!

The wiring diagram and the labels in the connections do not match. I couldn't find a way to contact anyone. Tried to write a question on here, but seems that went into a black hole.I got this thermostat powered up, got the app connected but could not get it to fire up the boiler and turn the heating on.I Researched many wiring diagrams and well, my bad I've now blown something in the boiler.Unless you're going to pay for installation, keep away. Should have been a straightforward job for someone with basic electrical skills.Also worth noting. When it is installed, albeit not sending a signal to the boiler, it has a high pitched frequency sound. For me with constant tinnitus, not a problem, but my lady wasn't impressed. She at least now has an appreciation for tinnitus.Not going to try and send this back. At the end of the day, I figured this was a DIY job. It isn't. Some basic instructions for UK wiring would have been a godsend and should not have been too much trouble.Purchase at your own risk. Next time I will invest a bit more and get a known brand (and maybe pay for installation!).Point to note, I wanted to use this for an underfloor heating thermostat. If it had worked I would have bought another for the underfloor in another room and one for Central heating upstairs.

Didn't use it.

All installed OK and connected to the app etc... but the unit refused to go to the set temperatures at the times set in Auto unless the App was open. I persevered for a few days and have now returned it. Also when the screen goes dim/off you cant turn it on without pressing a button and that button then works and either puts the unit into manual or changes the temperature. Then once in manual it does not revert back to auto at the next set time. A shame as I liked the design and it is a good price.

Been using this Thermostat for about 2 week and I have no complaints at all. Works as it should. I’ve asked a professional electrician to mount this on the wall and connect it to the heating system, not because it's hard to install but because my heating system is still under warranty. The instal was done quick and easy, the only issue I can mention was the supplied mounting screws for the back pattress box are not the standard thread used in UK so we needed to swap them. Otherwise, it’s a brilliant product at has all the great feature what I was looking for, and all of this for a great price. It looks very sleek on the wall, very modern but also minimalist designed. The touch control is responsive, the LCD screen has a nice bright backlit. It has the usual 5+1+1 programming function which can be set manually, but to get out the most of this thermostat you need to connect this with your mobile using the Smart Life app. The setup is very quick just follow the instruction in the manual. The good thing with the Smart Life app is that it can be controlled with voice using Alexa or Google assistance to set timings, you can even ask Alexa to turn ON/OFF the heating from anywhere.Perfect alternative to the Nestor Hive which cost significantly more than this thermostat. Overall, I’m super satisfied with it and would recommend.

Although my set-up was quite technical (I needed to reverse polarity to connect to my old boiler) - once up and running it works really really well (the app is a bit cluncky) - but just works seamlesly with alexa

The most important thing- someone's helps who knows more about it.I received this item as a part of vine reviewer program for free to deliver a non biased review.I'm a regular user of smart life application as most of my house's lighting and electrical devices are very much compatible with it.I was about to change my house's thermostat to a smart one just because I wanted one which can be operated remotely and keep my home toasty even before I arrive home.When I received this item I was really overconfident and tried to fix it my self but immediately I realised that I have to give up and get some experts support. I rang my friend who has some experience with equipments for this case who happily came and helped me to install this device. It took me a while to synch with smart life app as always but once it's on it flawlessly connects with both Alexa and Google home. I'm absolutely happy how the thermostat gives a modern minimalist look to the wall and how finely it works.I would give 4 stars for the device but have to reduce one star for the struggle I've faces while installation process.
