Perfect For My Needs - Love The Look and Feel
Love the look of these bars in our bathroom. The diameter feels just right for grabbing. Very sturdy and not slippery when my hands are wet. I have the 16" bar on the door just outside the shower so I have something to grab onto as I move my right leg in and out. And the 24" bar inside the shower which I hold onto as I move my left leg in and out. Easy 5 stars from me.

Serves multiple purposes, but most importantly, keeps you safe!
I have these in all my bathrooms in the shower and tub areas. The smooth, rounded finish provides an easy and comfortable grip for assistance. I also have them horizontally in the back of the shower and bath areas to not only serve for my assistance but also to hang my washcloth and my back brush. So they serve as grab bars and towel bars too. I can't be two purposes for one item!! The brushed nickel finish is quality and the bars themselves are substantial, providing confidence for me in the bathroom. Lastly, they are stylish, but at the same time a little inconspicuous in that they don't draw attention. They just wait in the background to you help when needed. :-) As for installation, my contractor has never once complained about them. In fact, he said I made a good choice and refers this particular brand/style of grab bars to other customers now too. If my contractor thought a product was difficult or unsafe for me to use, he would surely let me know. I have both, 18 inch and 16 inch, but mostly 16 inch. Over the years, my contractor has installed 7 of these life savers in three bathrooms so far. We have one more bathroom left to remodel and we will probably install 3 more there. When I find something that works for me I usually don't change the course. I buy what I know from experience works!!! As far as grab bars go, this particular brand/style is the one I purchase for my home. If you care about yourself and/or your family that may need assistance at some point (could be anyone, at any age) these grab bars are the way to go, safe and comfortable to use.

Very pleased with this grab bar.
This grab bar is great. I installed it in a new bathroom. The installation was easy with no surprises. I was able to mount it directly to studs behind the drywall, so it is very sturdy. It matches the other fixtures in the rest of the bathroom pretty well. For the price, it is a great value. If I need to install a grab bar in the other bathrooms in the house, this will be the first thing I consider. I am very pleased with it so far.

No ridges
I ordered the item that the first picture showed ridges like the other one in my shower that I wanted to match, but I received a smooth one. As another reviewer said this is not brushed nickel. It is brushed stainless. I had bought a brushed stainless earlier but my wife wanted brushed nickel like the one already in the shower. I ordered this one and it looks exactly like the brushed stainless I had bought earlier.

Has grip on the bar for Safety
Nice dirty handle. Has grip the handle. That helps with holding on. Itโs more dressy in the bathroom. Doesnโt look like a hospital bathroom.

Solid grab bar, but mind the installation!
Pros: Easy to install -- if you've done some construction -- even as an amateur. Tips: What you really need: 3/8" variable speed drill. Drill the 1/8" pilot holes. My 1/8" drill bits are 1 7/8" long. This leaves you about 1/2" short for the depth needed for the screw. The screw will not seat with a shallow pilot hole. My solution (aside from buying a longer bit): Insert a #1 Philips attachment into a magnetic drive guide. Then lock that into the drill. The guide will help you clear the safety bar handle which obstructs some of the mounting holes. (Most electric screwdrivers do not have the torque you will need to drive the 2" wood screw into a stud.) Take a 3" long, 1'8" wood screw, at least as sturdy as the given screws, and drive that in so about 1/2" is left showing. Remove that screw. Now you have a deep enough pilot hole for the 2" mounting screws provided. Do all holes this way after you have established your final pattern (See below). Now drive in the provided screws with the provided washer on each screw. When you do this: Start all 6 screws so they are 1/2" in. (If you drive one screw in all the way, and move on, I guarantee the previously drilled pilot holes will no longer be aligned -- doing it this way helps brace the bracket and its holes against the other screws). Now drive them home using bursts of power with the drill (not one steady zip). Always drive the last 1/2" with a single steady burst. Set up: The grab bar can be mounted horizontally or vertically (a longer than 16" bar can be mounted at an angle). The bar is 16" because that is the normal spacing on the studs (vertical 2x4s in your wall). Use a stud finder to locate the studs marking each side of the stud with a pencil mark. Depending on the stud finder, this gives you about a 2 1/4" width, but the 2X4 stud is actually just 1 5/8" width into which you will seat three screws. For a horizontal mount, the bar must mount into two studs. This could mean not having the bar exactly where you want it because the studs might not be where you need them. Two screws go on the upper side of the bar and one below. Careful selection of screws holes is important. Horizontal: Choose one side and mark where screws will go. Then, holding the bar firmly in place, select the screw locations on the other end of the bar (another stud for horizontal, same stud for vertical). You can use a nail and hammer to mark the start hole -- you don't want the drill skittering across the wall. Recommendation: Moen gives you six screws and washers. It is easy to round out the Phillips head in the screw. Moen should provide two extra screws, but they don't. If you're like me, I hate to get started and then have to run out to get more screws. Get some extras before you begin (2" wood screws with round Phillips head). Also, if you round out one of these before it seats and you can't extract it with the Phillips driver, Try small vise grips to back it out. The best thing is to avoid rounding out the heads in the first place -- so see above. Good product.

I mounted a a pair of these grab bars to the tile walls above our bathtub. I secured them to the walls between metal studs using four Moen SMA1005CH Home Care Securemount Anchors. They are securely mounted. The trick is to use a hole saw mounted on an arbor that has a spring loaded point that will sit centred in a hole started in the tile. I purchased the hole saw and arbor from Home Depot.

I liked the size and the styling. It had an intelligent design. It came with instructions. Unfortunately I discovered too late that my desired location did not have enough wood for the correct mounting. I have had to return this.
