This gate looks gorgeous but it isn't practical at all. My 10 month baby shook it once and it fell on top of her, cutting her arm. It is extremely risky for infants.

The size is great! Easy to install even without drilling on the wall it is still very safe.

I bought this to keep my two cats separated when I travel. They don't always get along and it's easier for the cat sitter. Once I found the instructions - they were in the box with the hardware - it was easy to follow. I did not screw it into the wall (didn't want to damage the wallpaper) but you can adjust the tension enough that the cats can't pull it down. If I was using it for a dog, I would probably screw it to the wall depending on the size of the dog, and I would definitely attach it to the wall with a young child. The gate comes with (2) 4-inch extensions that you can add to make it fit a wider area. These are never mentioned in the installation instructions, but it's obvious how to put it on, so that wasn't an issue. I did have to use one of the extensions. It is well-made. The gate and frame are all metal. There were no sloppy solder joints - it's all smooth. I'm sure that the black rubber pieces that go against the wall will leave marks eventually but that's a trade-off for having the security of the gate. The bars are vertical so they can't be climbed. I like the 3-foot height which will keep my cats apart when necessary. Note that if someone else is thinking of using this for cats, or dogs, there would be two things to consider. A small cat, kitten or puppy might be able to fit through the gaps or get their head wedged between the bars which are spaced 2" apart - plus there are over 2-1/2" + gaps on either side by the wall (for my installation). A healthy cat or many dogs can easily jump 3 feet. (My cats have physical limitations.) This would be perfect for a small child. The latch requires a little bit of dexterity and strength to open - enough to deter a child. For the money, this is a great value!

Perfect for a puppy that's 45 pounds. She's part kelpie and can take a running jump over it which is quite entertaining 🤣😜 so perfect jumping exercise for a kelpie if they have the running space just stick a plant infront and kelpie stops jumping it like a horse.

This is a really good value. It is very sturdy. It is attractive. It has two motions you have to use to unlock. Young kids couldn’t do it. Iove mine..very happy with it!
