Cable review
This cable touts separate windings for bass, mid and treble. I can say that the bass seemed fuller and more articulate. I connect these from a DAC/Pre to powered studio monitors from M-Audio and Denon. I noticed the change in low frequency presentation immediately, right out of the box. I did notice one connector was scuffed so they may have been pre-owned. My previous cables are the Audioquest Mackenzies. The Mackenzies were pre-owned but worked well with my rig. I prefer the Monster Pro Studio 2000s now. Both are very good cables. The 2000s are thicker and seem to be built well. They are approximately $200 less than the Mackenzies for 3 meters (10 feet). I may purchase a second pair of Monster Pro Studio 2000s.Update: I stand corrected. This cable does not separate windings into separate frequencies. They are “time coherent” windings. I am sorry if I misled anyone. In any case the sound is the final decider. I have listened to them for 7 months now. I prefer them over the Audioquest Mackenzies. The Mack’s are very good and a little more laid back. Both the Mack’s and the 2000’s are articulate and quiet. The 2000s are more accurate. Presence is noticeably and pleasantly forward giving higher tonal accuracy to piano, guitar and some synthesizer sounds. Synthesizers are distortion instruments however these cables bring out an improved reproduction of sampled sounds especially from Linear Algorithmic devices. For these reasons I have purchased a second pair for my second DAC/Pre audio system. Bright and etchy speakers will not favor these cables. Accurate and low distortion speakers will work well with these cables if they are driven with appropriately matched system components. In many instances, the Mack’s are still a good choice. It all comes down to your master transducers…your own ears.

Not a wimpy cable
I purchased the 5 footer for desktop recording. It's nice and should last right through the apocalypse. This is the one you want.

Very well made and quiet cable!
I am impressed with the quality and manufacturing of this cable. I replaced another mic cable as I was having grounding issues. This is a very quite and properly shielded cable. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a signal path upgrade and a quality cable for years of use.

Monster cables rock.
I picked this up to bridge a "cable gap" I was having. I have an XLR to 1/4 Phono, which works great for running guitars into amps, but if I wanted to expand to more professional microphones I needed XLR mic cables (obviously). I've said this in other reviews, but I don't think I've ever had a bad Monster cable. They are some of the priciest cables around, not THE priciest, but pricey, but boy are they rock solid. This cable is thick, flexible, and the ends are made of actual metal. ACTUAL METAL. Sometimes, cost actually buys ya something.I wouldn't hesitate to take this on tour with Zeppelin. Fantastic quality cable, plugs right into my Mackie powered speaker. No worries! Recommended!
