I bought it specially for my oil problem. It works really good. Gets rid of the oil in my head. I don't have any issues with it and it is very affordable. I highly recommend it.

I wanted a nontoxic, affordable alternative to the well-known salon tea tree peppermint clarifying shampoo in the green bottle. I have fine hair that leans oily and needs to be washed every day or two, so I wanted a gentle but effective clarifying shampoo. I’ve only used it twice but so far, I love it. Similar results as the salon brand without the added dyes and fragrance - hair feels clean but not stripped (I still follow with a good conditioner though). I will say though that not all of this brand’s shampoos are fragrance-free so make sure you check ingredients lists if that matters to you. They all say no synthetic fragrance, but some list fragrance/parfum, which I find confusing/misleading. This lemon sage one though does not. I wish they sold it in the larger sizes!

This is a shampoo I could almost rate 5 stars, but it just misses the mark. It does a good job of providing lightweight cleansing and the scent is wonderful. I'm not a huge fan of herbal scents, but it smells very natural and fresh. However, I find I have to use a good bit of it to lather in my hair, and my hair is only shoulder length. It's a much smaller bottle than you think, and I've been using it quickly. It's a bit cost prohibitive in that sense. My hair is extremely oily but my scalp is dry, so it's tough to find the "right" shampoo. This does come close. I can skip a day in between washes, where I usually have to wash it everyday, but it leaves my hair a touch dry and frizzled if I don't use a conditioner with it. But if I use a conditioner I'm back to washing it every day. So it's a decent option for shampoo, but for the price I don't think it's "the one". That said, if price is no objection and you have a bit more balanced hair chemistry than mine, it's a wonderful option due to how natural it is.

I've been using the MAPLE holistics degrease shampoo, and I liked it well enough. It does seem to help control my scalp oils. When I ran out I came to order more and I found this. It says it's for oily hair, and it works well. The bottle is decent in size and lasts a while. The reason I decided to try this one instead of the degrease is because I wanted a better scent. I love earthy scents, but I really appreciated the added citrus scent from the lemon. My hair has been so much smoother and more healthy since I started using MAPLE products. They use natural ingredients and my hair actually feels clean. I don't think I'll ever go back! Thus lathers really well, and I let it sit on my scalp for a while before rinsing.

UPDATE: After using this product for a few months, I'm still not a fan, but to be fair, I'm seeing better results now. Initially, I found the shampoo to be only slightly effective and gave it 2 stars. After taking some extra time in the shower to really massage this shampoo into my scalp in an effort to remove any product build-up, my oily hair issues have been solved. I can now comfortably go 2 days without my hair becoming oily...so, IMO, this product does work, but it might take some time and extra attention in the shower to see the results. I still only give it 3 stars because it leaves my wet hair tangly and very difficult to blow dry without using conditioner, and sometimes I just need to be able to quickly wash my hair and get on with the day. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I have long, fine hair that has recently been getting oily within hours of being washed and blown out. I tried this shampoo because of the ingredients and the reviews. The first time I used it I liked the way it felt on my scalp, but it was very difficult to blow dry my hair due to all the tangles. Once dry, my hair had an odd shine that looked oily, but felt dry. After using the shampoo for a few weeks it takes longer for my hair to get oily, but it feels especially thin and is hard to style. Using conditioner helped resolve the tangling issue, but it’s also made my hair heavier and flat, even with blow drying. And, while I know it’s superficial, I absolutely hate having a shampoo bottle in my shower that’s labeled “Degreaser” - it sounds like something that belongs in a garage. For me, this product was a miss.
