Well Made and Functions As Designed
It's fine for my purpose but it's a shorter cable than the one I purchased years ago, same brand. I use it on a flip bracket to get the flash off the camera. If you don't need much reach, it's very good.

Save some money over the OEM and consider buy this product from Vello
I love photography, and I've gotta say, good gear and equipment can be expensive. During a recent gear overhaul, I had an opportunity to evaluate several ETTL flash cords for my Canon cameras and flash units. I purchased a handful of inexpensive cords here and on my other favorite auction website (I'll let you guess the name). The Vello won hands down. Here's what I learned:Pros:1. Works great with E-TTL and TTL based cameras. No fuss, no mess, it just works. Other cords I've used work intermittently in that sometimes they need to be reseated, and the connector can twist causing intermittent connection of the contacts.2. Camera side mount features a weather seal, quick release, and metal base. When you slide this onto your camera, the fit is solid, and connection is good. Removal is easy. I can't speak to the true weather resistance, but it looks like it would help in a rainy shoot.3. Flash mount is metal, and fits well.4. Flash base has a 1/4-20 hole or can be attached to any standard hot-shoe, cold-shoe, or rail. There is a plastic spin-nut that lets you tighten the mount if attaching this way.5. Length coiled (the cord only) is 11 inches (I physically measured this). If you're using this on a bracket, there won't be lots of cable dangling around. Remember also that you can still stretch the coiled cord to about 28 inches (cord only) if you need to. I consider this a "Pro" while others may not.6. Cost. An OEM "OC-E3" comes in at about $68, where this unit is about $18 - WOWCons:1. The Flash base is plastic. Sadly, most are plastic - even the OEM version.2. There is no PC port on the flash base. On some of the other cords I tried, having a PC port on the flash base was convenient for using non TTL flash heads that didn't have an option for using the flash shoe. If you're not doing this, then there's no reason to have this port.3. There is no mention of the weather seal on the Vello. While the seal is there, and it feels good, it's up to you if you want to trust this to rain (If you're like me, you avoid getting your camera wet anyway)That's it for now. I hope this review helps.

Good Quality
Works perfectly with my Canon 80D. Bought with a bracket to cut down on shadows when shooting vertically. Communication between flash and camera is seamless. Everything works as expected.

Good option at the right price.
I'm a weekend photographer and do very little portrait work. A longer cord would be nice but this works well for my basic needs. It functions as expected.

Great alternative to the canon cable for off camera flash with a bracket or other device.
I decided to try this cable instead of the pricey canon cable as I don't do a lot of off camera flash work yet. I also got a flash bracket and the 1.5' cable is the perfect length without having to wrap with cord around the handle as I've seen some people do with longer cables. The connections seem good and works perfectly with my Canon 430exii flash. So far all TTL has been working just as good as if the flash was mounted on the camera so I'm happy. I was surprised with the build quality for the price and this will lead me to try other Vello products in the future.

Defective cable - replacement coming
I got the 1.5' which is perfect for connecting to the flash mounted on a side bracket. Build quality seems quite good. Having said that, the cable I received got sent back because it didn't work correcty. Oddly enough the zoom and F stops matched the camera/lens settings, but the TTL did not work at all. It seemed like the flash fired at the lowest setting all the time regardless of what I tried. A replacement is on its way, so I'll report on how that one works.

Neater than long Canon model
I wanted a flash cable that was shorter than the Cannon one I have, because the Canon cable dangles when I have the Speedlite and camera close together. This fits the bill. I tried it with my EL-1 yesterday, when it arrived. Works fine. I can't testify to its durability, but it sees solid.

Quality product!`
This is a well made Off-Camera-Cable that maintains full functionality with Canon dedicated flash units. The length is perfect for use on a low-profile flash bracket and its construction appears to be solid. I really like the solution they came up with for the "lock" on the end that attaches to the cameras shoe.
