Does this product work well as a laxative too? If so, are the serving directions the same?

On the tube it says "lubricant for the elimination and prevention of hairballs "....on the back of the tube it says "...a veterinarian formulated lubricant that helps eliminate and prevent hairballs...". This product is not to be used as a laxative. My vet recommended Miralax for constipation in my cats starting with 1/8 teaspoon BUT you need to check with your vet for advice before using Miralax.
