Whiskey Painters Empty, Replacement, Half Pans with Magnets - Great for Customizing Your Own Palette (12 Pieces)

The first package of these I bought was perfect -- magnets are really strong... hold the pans in place very well... and with four of these pans inside, they are even strong enough to hold my two altoid tin palettes to each other when stacked! However, the other day when I opened the second package I bought, 4 of the pans don't have magnets on them! They have the little groove where the magnets should have attached on the plastic, but no magnets. Given that you can buy 20 or more half pans without magnets for less than these cost, and that even with the magnets, it is an expensive buy for 8 pans, you would think the the company would notice that some of them don't have magnets on them when they go into the package. Hence only two stars. A great product when its right, but no quality control to catch the bad ones before packaging!! So it's almost $2 per pan when you work that out. Not acceptable.

I ordered a set of half pans with rectangular magnets. The proplem is I expected the magnets to be ATTACHED and unfortunately that was hit or miss. Nice plastic pans and strong rectangular magnets - just not a single unit. The photo is of the half pans showing magnets dislodged. What a shame. This could have been a great product thst you didn't have to repair prior to its first use

These high quality half pans with magnets are great for extending the capacity of Whiskey Painters and other metal palettes. Magnets are a convenient means of keeping pans in place and with these magnetic half pans you can quickly and easily turn an empty Altoids or other tin into a watercolor travel palette. Just a note, I purchased two sets of these pans and each set had a different type of magnet. (See attached photo.) While the circular magnet has sufficient power to keep the pan in place, I prefer the more powerful rectangular magnet power which keeps the pan more firmly in place. I'm so glad I found these perfect pans!

It took almost a month to receive this order. I did receive a note apologizing for the delay. Also a few extra pans were included which was nice. However I’m disappointed in the quality. I have other Whiskey Painter items and I expected these to be of good quality. The pans are all inconsistent in thickness and height. These are very poorly made. They will work but I don’t like cheap looking items in my paint palettes.

These are perfect for my 12 Sennelier travel palette..It allows me to add several more colors. Originally my order arrived with one pan missing a magnet. All I did was write a complaint. Without my asking for it, the seller sent me a whole new set, all with magnets. That is impressive.

I absolutely love the little Whiskey Painters half pans with the magnets. It's such a terrific idea to add the magnets. Now I can make my very own, specialized watercolor paint palette and not have to worry about the pans falling out. My order arrived quickly and in excellent condition. I will definitely order from this company again.

The original picture showed 4 full pans and 8 half pans. Eventually I received 12 half-pans. Pans are not white, they got yellowish. And finally I had to reglue some magnets. Silicone glue works fine.

If you are thinking about setting up a tiny watercolor travel palette (such as the popular Altoid tin model), these are perfect because they have a tiny magnet on the back! Easy to remove and rearrange, I bought two packs and could fit them all into a Fisherman's Friend throat lozenge tin.
