It works but no better than any other French Press
Why are people rating it 5 stars? I do not know.In a way, french presses are all the same. To me, this is quite average and as a matter of fact, every piece seems a little flimsier then I wanted it too.The outer metal container does not hold the beaker well so it is a matter of time until it breaks when I am washing it. That is one thing I always will look for in a French Press.I have a 6 cup one that I bought a while ago with a rather nice looking rubber outer holder. The only problem is actually getting the beaker out of that one but it is easier than one might think. This press is perfectly fine and works as well as any others but it is also perfectly average. It is no better or worse than other presses I own but I have none and I have 3 others, that slip out this easily. I am disappointed. Sorry Grosche.

Sturdy press, I like the industrial kind of theme to this particular model
I just received yet another of these French press coffee makers. I bought this one to keep up at my hunting camp. I really love these things because they are a very nifty tool to have while traveling or just to simply make better coffee than any other coffee maker. They make for such a much better quality of coffee too. This particular model is a good bit heavier than others which I really liked. It has more of an industrial feel to it other than some of the other presses that are kind of "at home themed." This one just seems to be built a lot more sturdier than others, which is nice considering that it will get beat up significantly more than my others that I own. The inner part is not plastic or anything synthetic. It is simply just glass. Apparently these brands of GROSCHE coffee mugs are environmentally friendly too. Mainly because they do not use paper. Many coffee lovers prefer the taste of a Coffee Press because it does not use a filter, so the essential oils are left in the final brew product. You will have more full and complex flavors within your cup of coffee, and it will be more fresh than you can imagine. Even if you are someone that normally likes a lighter brew of coffee, the Coffee Press would be the ideal choice for that style of a roast. As a rule of thumb, lighter roasted coffee is often preferred to exhibit clearer flavor characteristics. Many people normally love a dark roast, but a light coffee roast is not roasted for as long so you can taste unique flavors. There are many quality dark roasts on the market, but on the flipside, numerous companies also choose to dark roast subpar coffee beans to mask their actual flavors. If you want to enjoy the full flavors from a unique coffee growing country, a light roast will provide that for you. If you do brew a light roast of coffee in an automatic coffee maker using a paper filter, many of the essential oils will be removed. A Coffee Press will provide you with a different point of view because the coarse coffee grounds will be pressed to the bottom of the device, and they will be separated from your coffee product. There is no filter involved whatsoever, so if you want to truly detect the actual flavors within a specific type of coffee bean, that is the way to go. To provide an example, you could be drinking a light coffee roast for the very first time when using a French Press, and it will allow you to taste unique coffee flavor characteristics.

Fabulous for entertaining!
LOVE this French Press! It is built very well, feels so sturdy and looks so artistic and modern. This is truly a piece you can pull out for entertaining and leave your guests jealous;) I am a coffee connoisseur and, until recently, refused to use anything less than Bodum. Bodum was the minimum standard of good quality and I couldn't find anything comparable in the same price range. Then came Grosche! They have consistently churned out fabulous equipment that is on par or better than Bodum, and at a similar or lower price range. I love the thought and construction put into their gear! This French Press pours with no dripping, plunges very smoothly, leaves almost no sediment (all French Presses leave some), and creates a true coffee "experience" when entertaining.Thank You Grosche for another amazing product and for giving me the opportunity to test it out at a cheaper price for honest feedback... I love Grosche gear!

Really great design
This was my first french press so I wasn't sure how I would like it, but I absolutely love it! I have a Keurig and typically use Kcups but I have been enjoying use this French Press sometimes to switch it up. The design is very cool and modern and you can store it right on your kitchen counter because it's so chic! It's very sturdy and the glass carafe is thick and have never been worried about it breaking when handling. It's super easy to clean, just rinse out, and every few rinses you can put in the dishwasher. The coffee comes out tasting great!

Huge value for a small price
Whether the price was promotional or the regular one, for an inexpensive French press, this is top notch! I had bought one that cost twice as much as well (one for home, one for work) that doesn't even begin to measure up to this press. The construction is great, the filter is fine enough to filter most grinds except the finest, but strong enough to go against course grinds. The plunger is still a little stiff, but it makes me press slower, keeping me from splashing hot coffee all over everything. Love, love, love this French press. Best value ever!!
