Great product nice smaller bag
Took about 7-8 days to germinate with 2 waterings a day , one around 5 pm , heavy soak about 9 pm , coming up great now , the fertilizer in the new seed bag seems to have even boosted what old grass we did have - note - I barely did a thin layer of new top soil , and we HEAVILY dethatched before mowing shortly to remove all the old moss prior to seed. Did not put soil on top of seedReccomend this product for sureWashington USA

Rapid grass is right!
Fast and beautiful!! I used the scotts top soil with fertilizer and a weed barrier sowed in the rapid grass. The pic is less than a week of growth!! I am so happy! I followed the recommended directions and care. Vwalla! I would definitely recommend this and already have. I have a few shy spots but it's also a covered backyard. I'm impressed. Great value too this one bag did my whole yard. LOVE IT Great quality! Easy to use! Fast germination! Water in the morning and at night. Rapid grass is right!!

Good but slower to grow than expected, but probably temp to blame
Seed was laid down and top soil on top on April 5th. Second picture, April 24th. Sprinkler was set to water 1 minute every 1.5 hours from 9am to 5pm.Overall seems good. Not all is growing yet. It's been cooler than usual with temps in the day in the mid 70s. Night at around 50s. We had few days in the low 80s.I do wonder how it will hold up for the next few years.

NEITHER RAPID NOR PROLIFIC
I've lived on my .54 acres of lawn for 30 years. This is the first time I've tried my luck with an early October spread and as such, I can only vouch for this product's Autumn performance. Most of the reviews of SCOTTS RAPID GRASS confirm my own results namely, poor to middling performance in the Hudson Valley, NY. THE VARIABLES: The temperature this autumn (2021) ranged in the mid-forty's with a high of 60 and a low of 36. Precipitation ranged from 'flood warning' to near draught. No matter, I've been watering the newly seeded area twice a day for over a month--Nice sunny weather overall. The results have been weirdly 'spotty'. Nice healthy patches grew--but this accounts for only 8% of the lawn. These random tufts look great--if you like random 12 inch diameter turf that remind me as hair transplants.BY COMPARISON: One year ago, I commissioned an entirely new septic system in my 'back yard'. Tons of new soil was dumped and smoothed over. The contractor then tossed grass seed by hand and called it a day. Within a week, the stuff started to sprout--and 60 days later, I had a full viable lawn!LONG STORY SHORT:: While not a total dud, this $60+ investment accomplished little to rejuvenate my lawn. These seems to be neither rhyme nor reason for this spotty performance. As much as I'd like to blame the product failure on 'human error', I did every, short of lying down and singing the seeds a lullaby.Maybe your experience will be different. This expensive product couldn't compete with the sack of 'contractors seed' my septic guy tossed around. I am more confused than disappointed.

Seed Quickly Sprouted and is a great value.
I used this in the spring to overseed and to cover some bare spots. The grass seed sprouted quickly and thickly in my shaded front yard. I will be using it again in the fall.

Nothing grew. Do not buy. Or buy it and throw your money away.
Let me tell you a story. A story of hope, excitement, and ultimately… grass-less despair.I was pumped when this arrived. “Grows green grass in just weeks,” it said. “Sun & shade mix!” Perfect! I had just the spot in my yard, a patch of land that had seen better days. I even imagined my 8-year-old running barefoot through the lush, green grass, laughing in slow motion like a stock photo.I followed the instructions like a lawn-cultivating monk. I aerated. I raked. I gently whispered encouragement to the soil. I evenly spread HALF the bag—because, you know, science. I watered it religiously, monitored the weather like a farmer, and waited. And waited. And waited some more.Spoiler alert: Not. One. Blade. Grew.At first, I thought maybe I overwatered it. Then I thought maybe I underwatered it. Then I started Googling, “Can you curse grass into existence?” because I was officially in denial. After two weeks, the only thing growing was my frustration and one very smug-looking dandelion that seemed to be mocking me from the side.I even bent down at one point and thought I saw a sprout. Nope. Just a weirdly shaped pebble. So now I’m left with half a bag of what I can only assume is very expensive brown confetti and a completely bald patch of lawn that now serves as a monument to disappointment. My child asked if we could paint the dirt green so it “looks like something is happening.”Unless your goal is to throw money directly into the ground and watch it not grow, I’d stay far, far away from this product. Consider donating your cash to your local nursery instead—or better yet, just tape some green construction paper to your yard. Thanks, Scotts, for teaching me that sometimes, dreams really do dry up and blow away with the wind.

Grew quickly
I had many worn out spots from our dog and I jaded some dirt tossed the seeds and watered. It is now lush full green grass! It grew quickly and the bag is plenty for a big yard.
