Poorly written, but I want to know more
This is a compelling story presented very poorly. The author is actually a decent storyteller but his book obviously never saw a proofreader or editor's desk. The reviewers' comments regarding this are not exaggerated. Graham's conclusions regarding his friend, boss and mentor seem to coincide with his inability to see the many errors in the book he is selling us. Characters like Rex Cauble, (I tend to believe he was guilty) are typically incredibly duplicitious especially to those closest to them.I doubt any author/resesrcher will ever write/uncover what I supect is the whole story. There are lingering questions...Is it not strange how the Texas Ranger who was looking into Cauble was shot/killed in a botched drug raid near Cauble's ranch? What about Rex's involvement with various government and law enforcement officials with their own rumored scandals involving narcotics?Could what Gary Webb's journalistic work uncovered regarding drugs and the CIA be tied in?John Connally was a character witness? Really? What did people in prison with Rex have to say about him?Too many people involved in drug trafficking during this period were seemingly untouchable. Some apparently worked with a great deal of CIA protection. Perhaps Rex wasn't because of the sizeable high dollar assets he possessed?

Not what I expected
I had been wanting to read this book for a long time since I knew Mr. Cauble personally. I actually thought it was going to be more about Rex. But I was wrong, it was Muscles' story, which seem to drag on and on with a lot of facts left out. I was really disappointed in the amateurish writing. The run on sentences, grammatical errors and skipping around were all very distracting. Why Graham didn't invest in an editor or at least someone to just proof read his story, still puzzles me. BTW, Mr. Cauble was a very sweet man with a big heart......and really loved his horses!

This book is a great story, but the copy sold is not acceptable
This book is a great story, but the copy sold is not acceptable. There are many grammatical errors and breaks in reasonable English that would make any editor or proof reader cringe. The copy smells strongly of a pirated work and I caution anyone who might think of purchasing this book to look elsewhere.

Too many reviews
Reading all the reviews on this book (Cowboy Mafia) was like reading a book in itself. Most books of this genre garner only half a dozen reviews at best whereas this one has 34 at last count. Several of the 34 reviews are repeated bringing the actual total down to about 20-25 reviews but in my opinion many of them are bogus. Sorry Roy Graham. I do not believe all of your reviews and I believe even less in the favorable reviews supposedly written by large publications. Amazon.com you should confirm at least some of the reviews written about your products before your rating system loses all its credibility.

Book
I simply loved this book because I've met a lot of the people that are in it......and I am a relative of the lawyer that represented some of them. Have been so upset because I loaned it out and have forgotten who I loaned it to.ALSO I know the members of the Cowboy Mafia band ......really interesting read.

Cool story. Bad writing.
This is a cool story and I live in Denton so the Cauble Ranch has always interested me. This was the absolute worst written book I have ever read. I hate to be nasty towards the author, and I know he is a pilot by trade... But seriously, it was very poorly written.
